Grieves Design was established in April 2013 by North East based graphic designer Gavin Grieves. Gavin graduated from the City of Sunderland University in July 2000 with a BA(hons) Degree in Information Design. Gavin had previously been employed as a Mac Operator at Lord Lawson School. He then became their graphic designer after 2 successful years and was handed the responsibility of managing a sm
all Design, Print and Copy Shop. During the next 3 years Gavin did freelance work for companies such as NatWest and Woolworths, Birtley Town FC and Kenton School. In August 2005 Gavin became the GD at Kenton School in Newcastle upon Tyne, the fifth largest secondary school in the UK. 3 years later he landed an in-house roll at Newcastle United FC. He spent 5 very creative years working for NUFC designing material for marketing, memberships, hospitality, box office, foundation but mainly for retail and the club stores and online shop. He worked with companies such as Adidas, Puma, Northern Rock and Virgin Money and established good relationships with many printers and marketing companies in the region. In March 2013 Gavin made the decision to take his freelance work to the next level and Grieves Design was established. Targeting small to medium business without a marketing departement with smaller, more affordable design projects. Grieves Design have branded several small/medium local businesses as well as producing work for SAFC, Grosvenor Casions, Mercure Hotels and NHS, producing new material such as vehicle graphics and exhibition stands as well as the usual printed communications like leaflets, flyers, menus, invitations, wedding stationary and greeting cards.
