Africans need to open their eyes when electing new leaders. If you continue to elect leaders from the same old stock, you'll always remain where you are or even worse off.

Thank you very much for posting this mind boggling statistically backed economics global facts; proffering practical solutions, such as the inclusion of the African Union as the 21st member of the G20.
Excellent points on how the rich countries have impoverished Africa, citing the example of DRC, and we can by extension include other African countries like Nigeria, in which the British laid a very weak foundation and system. Then again, the British ostensibly left Nigeria >60 years ago and Nigeria remains wobbly.
The country is unfortunately under the firm grip of a few recycled and their new apprentice elites of the Nigerian polico-military vested interests who have and are looting , mismanaging and misapplying our abundant God-given resources, plus the borrowed loans and facilities from the Paris Club and other multilateral lenders.
The looting and mismanagement of Nigeria’s resources have taken another dimension in recent times and all of us elite are either too scared, ball-less cowards and/ or being politically-correct survivalists.
Economists tell us the sad fact that due to the sharp and consistent devaluation of the Naira, that the country’s GDP today, is back to the 1980s levels. What an economic retrogression. The uncelebrated prophet, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, once sang: “Na reverse army don put our economy”,. Now no difference between army and the new political order.
The late Dr Matthew Mbu once said to me, when I went to him to support my candidacy when I was contesting the office of the National Chairman of the PDP when it was zoned to the South East in 2008. He said and I paraphrase: ‘Sonny, my son, I’ve no doubt that you’ll make a good Chairman of the party, given what I know about you and your disposition as a fine young man. But do you think that that is what the party and the system want? Unfortunately for your generation, what is clearly emerging, is the capture of political power in Nigeria by a group of retired army officers and some 419ers. But my son, you have my blessing and support. Don’t be too disappointed if you lose. Your time will come”. This was 13 years ago, when I was 51 years old. Now at 64 years of age, my time will still come? Dr Mbu is spot on. Shouldn’t it be my sons and their generation in their 30-50s to be the ones running the affairs of this country and the continent.?
Now, due to the great migration of Nigerians to Canada, Nigerians have changed the name of Canada to Plan B. Many young talented and even older Nigerians are migrating to Plan B. A lot of our athletes and sports men are representing other countries and winning laurels. Ditto our doctors and other professionals.
While the world is now focused on Artificial Intelligence and electric cars, Nigeria is still in the throes of battling over Cattle routes, herdsmen, bandits and unknown gunmen!!!!!!!!
If the AU, as suggested by the gentleman in the video, is given the 21st membership of the G20; either President Buhari and Zainab Ahmed the Finance Minister are likely to represent the AU. We hope and pray to see and hear their interesting engagements.
The gentleman may end up swallowing his words, if and when he drills down deep into what we African elites and leaders have done to our people.
We, as a people, particularly as represented by the ruling class, are simply a bunch of kleptomaniac and squandermaniac, with no iota of humane empathy in us. Greedy, profane, self hatred, bigoted, debauchery, intemperate, mean, vulgar and selfish. But the good news, friend, is when we die, which is a certainty for all mortals, we shall go back empty- handed, naked and a feast for maggots. Think about this and when you meet and talk to our leaders, share these thoughts with them.
