So, I may have kept this one a bit quiet. But.....

I have been awarded the Women Leader in Digital Marketing & Growth Strategy Award 2026 by Great Companies. This award means so much to me, not only because it has been shared in their International Women Awards for 2026, but because I have never been one to shout about my own achievements.

But, my goal for 2026 was to help support as many businesses and business owners as possible, and to do that, I needed to move into a space where I was comfortable not only talking about my achievements but in also sharing my story of how I got here.

AMAZING!!!

Today was simply fabulous. A client content session today at the gorgeous Celi studio.

Not only was the client happy, but it gave me a chance to capture video and photo content to really promote them.

Will definitely be using this place again in the future.

They said I couldn’t, so I stopped asking for permission.

For a long time, I felt invisible. Not because I didn’t have something to offer, but because I didn’t yet know how to show it in a way people could truly see.

That’s a big reason why I care so deeply about what I do now.

As a digital marketer, I don’t just focus on numbers and strategy. I focus on people. Especially small business owners who are talented, passionate, and capable, but sometimes overlooked or doubting themselves.

My favorite part of my work isn’t analytics dashboards or campaign results. It’s the moment someone realizes they do belong, they are good enough, and they can be visible.

Because invisible doesn’t mean incapable. It usually just means unsupported.

This one thing really ticks me off!

This morning at my regular networking group, a conversation came up that I hear all the time.

Someone said, “We’ve outsourced our marketing… but it still feels like I’m doing another full-time job.”

And I nodded, because I know exactly what they mean.

Too many people pay for “marketing support” that’s really just… uploading.

You’re asked to provide the content, write the captions, send the ideas, plan your course of action, and then someone schedules it and hands you a report.

But that’s not marketing. That’s admin with a social media login.

Here’s how I work instead:

I start by getting to know your business, what you do, who you help, what you want to achieve, and what success actually looks like for you.

Then we build a strategy together.

After that, I go off and do the geeky bit:

I research what people are searching for in your niche, find the gaps and opportunities, and develop content that’s designed to land with the right audience, all within a realistic budget.

Because marketing shouldn’t feel like an extra job you’ve accidentally taken on.

That’s why you outsource it in the first place.

Collaboration? Yes.
Growth together? Absolutely.

But more work for you? Never.

If I gave you ingredients, could you bake my nan’s traybake?

If I gave you flour, eggs, butter and sugar, you could probably make a cake.
It might even be a good one.

But if I asked you to make a specific cake, my nana’s traybake, could you do it?

Not without the recipe.

And this is exactly what happens when someone hands over their marketing to a virtual assistant with no marketing experience, or asks ChatGPT to “just post on my socials”.

You will get something.
But it will not necessarily be the right something.

Because good marketing is not just creating output. It is:

💭knowing your audience and what they care about

💭understanding your offer and what makes it different

💭choosing the right message for the right moment

💭writing in a way that matches your brand voice

💭using strategy and analytics to improve what works

ChatGPT can be a brilliant tool, and a VA can be a huge support, but without a strategy and a clear recipe, you end up with content that looks fine and still misses the mark.

If you want your marketing to sound like you, attract the right people, and lead to enquiries, start with the recipe first.

What an inspiring day yesterday at the BNI UK & Ireland DC Summit!

The room was filled with incredible energy, powerful stories, and truly inspirational speakers who reinforced just how important mindset, leadership, and meaningful relationships are in business.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was the power of connection, not just showing up, but genuinely building relationships that create trust and long-term growth. That really resonates with the work I do as a digital marketer.

At its core, effective marketing isn’t just about clicks or algorithms, it’s about helping businesses connect with the right people in an authentic and impactful way.

I left the summit feeling energised, motivated, and excited to apply these insights, both in how I support my clients and how I continue to build strong, collaborative relationships. A brilliant reminder that when people and purpose come first, growth follows 💡🚀

🎶 “The winner takes it all…” 🎶

As we wrap up 2025, we can’t help but smile at everything this year brought us.

It looked a lot like this:
📊 obsessing (just a little) over analytics
📱 chasing trends — and actually catching some
🎭 reconnecting with our creativity
🎉 celebrating wins big and small, and learning from the messy moments in between

From late-night ideas to campaigns we’re truly proud of, this year reminded us why we started and why we still love what we do. Most importantly, it reminded us how lucky we are to work with such incredible people.

To the clients who trusted us, said “let’s try it,” and grew alongside us — thank you. You’re the reason we do this. And yes, some of those results absolutely had us dancing in our chairs 🕺

Looking ahead to 2026 with full hearts and big plans:
Same heart.
Smarter moves.
Even more wins. 🏆

Creative burnout is a real thing. So whenever I get the chance I take myself off out into nature to reset and the idess just start flowing.

Whether it's ideas for an email marketing campaign, blog titles or social media creative content. Being in nature always helps me find my flow again.
