The reach of Facebook Live Video continues to grow. Yesterday's broadcast on Loving Weymouth & Portland reached 100,000 users in 15 hours and had 35,000 views with the numbers still growing !

We found a great excuse to get out into the sun yesterday and took some live video of the Greenhill area of Weymouth Beach for a live broadcast on Facebook. Yesterday we broadcast Weymouth's Veterans Day Parade live on Loving Weymouth & Portland .

Although hindered by a slightly dodgy 4g connection 1,500 tuned in live to watch the parade and since then the saved video has been viewed over 17,000 times and reached over 70,000 Facebook users!

With so many great events happening in Weymouth every year we're sure that live broadcasts are the future when it comes to attracting visitors to the resort and we plan to do lots more ...

Our Love-Weymouth brand has become well recognised internationally due in no small part to the the website being translatable into multiple languages.

From the outset this was crucial when we planned the build of the site. We believe we are still the only local tourism based site to be providing this service and reaching out to international visitors.

We were very happy a while ago to have helped out this German TV company by providing local footage for a documentary about Dorset that aired on German TV after they contacted us via love-weymouth.co.uk

We're doing our best to harness the power of Facebook to bring up to date event information to people planning a holiday in Weymouth and Portland.

Where possible we embed the latest posts from an event's page directly into the events listing on our website so when the event adds info to their page within an hour or two it also displays on our site.

Take a look on our page for this years Dorset Seafood Festival you will see that although we have limited information available the latest information the festival has added to their page is also available to our site visitors.

It's just another way we're doing what we can to promote what goes on in Weymouth and Portland, we think this it's a pretty neat and simple way of doing things and would love to know what you think ...

Another local accommodation provider website keeping their future customers in the know with embedded events listings from love-Weymouth.co.uk . Our target is to have at least a dozen websites onboard with this by end April next on the list Acqua Beach Weymouth .

As take up increases awareness of what's on locally will increase dramatically so if you're a local events organiser it's getting more important than ever that you take a few minutes out of your day to add your event to the list.

All kinds of events can be included but one type we are particularly looking for in the run up to this season is entertainment in clubs and pubs. Visitors staying for a night or two are always on the look out for what's on in the evening and if they are able to check this out on their hotel's website before they even arrive it will help them make a choice. Added to this busy hoteliers will easily be able to check out what's on and give advice to their guests.

We've always believed that joining thInge up in this way is the way to go and and are excited at the opportunities it presents. Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved.
