This week has flown by.
On Wednesday Sophie attended an event at the STUNNING Dorset Museum & Art Gallery in Dorchester.

Dorset attracts over 22 million visitors annually, so it seems natural to have a ‘Dorset Destination Management Plan’! It’s always interesting to have so many people in one room, all coming from different backgrounds, ages, and in various sectors of the travel industry. All opinions and thoughts are so important in building the best plan possible!

Delighted to have had a seat in the room. We love where we live and work.

🪩 Last night we attended the launch of the 2026 b-side Arts Festival. A local arts festival that really punches above its weight. This years theme is ‘That other place’ drawing on memories of the Portland Fair, and local resident David Palmer’s extraordinary Fair archives 🪩

Pippa has been working hard with the b-side team to bring journalists to the event and shine a light on the weird and wonderful Portland!

Bank Holiday cheers from us! 🥂

We know summer isn't over yet, but we wanted to give a nod to a wonderful August! Over the past few years we have spent August gearing up for the Seafood Festival and therefore not really able to enjoy it. With the festival in July this year, we were able to actually enjoy time with friends and family this summer, and it was GLORIOUS!

Now the 'ber' months are calling and we also LOVE this time!

Mark Hartstone has been cooking for Dorset since 2007. He and his wife Emmanuelle took on Fosse at Cranborne - la-fosse.com almost two decades ago, and it's grown into one of the county's most loved restaurants with rooms, still small, still husband and wife led, still all about what's in season.

This summer he took to the chef stage at The Dorset Seafood Festival to show the county what he does best. If that's not enough, La Fosse is well worth booking a table for.
