We are an award winning PR, media and content agency with offices in Hampshire and Plymouth. We are experts in producing winning PR strategies for businesses, organisations and individuals and helping our clients to achieve their goals and objectives. With more than seven decades of PR and communications experience in business, the public sector, and charities throughout the UK and Europe we know

which PR strategies work and which ones don't. We are proud members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and adhere to its code of conduct – a reassuring stamp of quality that clients can trust. We produce content for a range of platforms covering owned, earned and paid-for media, with a growing focus on generating shared media too by developing strong relationships with influencers such as key bloggers and online publishers. In plain English that means:

Content for the platforms you own - such as your website, blog, social media output, advertising materials etc

Telling your stories in an engaging and compelling way that will earn you media coverage in newspapers and magazines, online media, and the output from key influencers. Finding the right channels for paid for content for your campaigns - whether that is sponsored output for Facebook or Twitter, advertorials in the right publications or alternative paid for streams for hitting your target audience. Increasingly we are creating content that can be shared by key influencers in your customers' spheres to lead to increasing brand awareness. We are also experts in social media; provide media and PR training to prepare clients for interviews; and are trusted to help manage online reputations.

This week at Briscoe PR…

⭐️ On Friday, Bella and Kevin were at The Bugle Hamble for a client meeting with Hernia Clinic Hampshire, discussing future plans and opportunities to raise awareness of the clinic and its services.

Later in the week, they returned to The Bugle to experience and capture one of its popular Sunday Roasts. The aim was to document the atmosphere, customer experience and personality of the venue through authentic photo and video content. This style of content helps audiences imagine themselves there, making social media more engaging and ultimately encouraging bookings and visits.

⭐️ Harriet attended a virtual classroom for her PR Apprenticeship led by AI and communications specialist Andrew Bruce Smith. The session explored the role of artificial intelligence within PR and communications, covering a range of AI tools and practical applications for the industry. Harriet also began work on her latest apprenticeship assignment on sustainability, exploring how organisations can implement and communicate sustainable practices in a meaningful and authentic way.

Alongside her studies, Harriet edited four videos for Ideal Collection’s Boathouse Chichester Marina and Boathouse Swanwick's social media, creating a bank of engaging content ready for July's social media activity. She also distributed a press release for Boathouse Chichester, highlighting the venue's packed summer events calendar and helping to generate awareness of the exciting programme of events taking place throughout the summer season.

⭐️ This week, Becca has been writing three press releases across a range of sectors and objectives. From celebrating recent award wins and raising the profile of client achievements, to producing thought leadership content around current news topics and promoting upcoming summer events, each release has been tailored to secure relevant media attention and keep clients visible to their target audiences.

⭐️ On Tuesday, Sam attended a Breckenridge webinar exploring 7 Ways to Unlock Hidden Revenue with HubSpot. The session provided practical insights into identifying untapped opportunities, recovering lost revenue and making better use of HubSpot's growing suite of AI-powered tools.

⭐️ Kevin was networking with Hampshire Fare at Holden Farm Camping & Cafe in Cheriton, connecting with local businesses and producers from across the region. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships, understand the challenges and opportunities facing local businesses, and build connections that can lead to future collaborations and growth.

⭐️ Last week, Kevin and Bella represented Briscoe PR at The Rainbow Centre Charity Quiz. While they narrowly missed out on the top spot, they were only a few points away from victory! More importantly, it was a great evening supporting an incredible local charity that provides life-changing support for children with cerebral palsy and adults with neurological conditions.

At Briscoe PR, onboarding a new client is about far more than a welcome call - it’s about becoming fully immersed in your business from day one.

Before we even begin, we research your brand, competitors, industry landscape, and existing visibility to understand where opportunities exist.

From there, we organise a detailed kick-off meeting to align on your goals, KPIs, approval processes, brand messaging, and future ambitions. We also gather key brand assets and map out a long-term PR strategy with seasonal opportunities, campaigns, launches, awards, and content planning built in.

Most importantly, we work to become an extension of your internal team - staying closely connected so we can spot opportunities early, react quickly, and keep PR aligned with your wider marketing activity.

Hiring an agency instead of building a full in-house marketing team doesn’t just save time, it can save your business a huge amount of money and stress too.

No National Insurance increases. No pension contributions. No expensive software subscriptions stacking up every month. No recruitment costs, HR admin, training, or managing annual leave and sick days.

Instead, you get access to an entire team of specialists for a fraction of the cost of hiring multiple people internally.

You also benefit from something businesses often overlook - a fresh pair of eyes. Agencies bring an outside perspective, new ideas, industry insights, and experience gained from working across multiple brands and campaigns.

The right agency doesn’t just “post on social media” - it becomes an extension of your business, bringing strategy, creativity, expertise and flexibility without the overhead of growing an in-house team.

The smartest investment is all about hiring the right partner.

This week at Briscoe PR… ✨

⭐️ On Saturday, Bella and Kevin attended White Horse Otterbourne Garden Party, capturing photos and videos throughout the event. The garden was packed from start to finish, creating fantastic content opportunities and, more importantly, demonstrating the success of the communications campaign leading up to the event. Through a combination of social media, email marketing, PR and promotional content, we helped build awareness and drive attendance. The content captured on the day will now be used to promote the venue's outdoor spaces throughout the summer season, helping to attract even more visitors.

⭐️ Bella, Kevin and Harriet headed to a kick-off meeting with exciting new client, Gorse Knives. The visit was an opportunity to capture a bank of high-quality photos and videos ready for social media, PR activity and future campaigns. Investing time in content creation at the start of a project allows us to tell a client's story consistently across multiple channels, building brand awareness and creating opportunities for media coverage from day one.

⭐️ Harriet dedicated her study day to finalising her apprenticeship report on Using Communication Channels to Maximise Engagement, exploring how businesses can use different platforms strategically to connect with audiences. She also attended a virtual classroom on Content Marketing: Creative Strategy Tips to Drive Conversation, bringing back new ideas and practical insights that can be applied directly to client campaigns. Continuous learning helps us stay ahead of industry trends and deliver better results for clients.

⭐️ For Kevin, Tuesday began at the Insider Media South Coast Property Evolution Breakfast at the Wi******er Hotel & Spa, where he joined discussions around developments, opportunities and challenges within the property sector. Events like these help us stay informed about the industries our clients operate in and identify emerging stories and trends.

Later in the day, Kevin attended the Network My Club members event at the Utilita Bowl for the T20 fixture between Hampshire Hawks and Sussex Sharks — with a win for the Hawks! Networking events remain an important part of what we do, helping us strengthen relationships across the regional business community, build new connections and create opportunities that ultimately benefit our clients through partnerships, introductions and increased visibility.

🚨 Help, we’ve got a crisis! 🚨

Comment section backlash can escalate quickly, one post turns into hundreds of comments, and suddenly the narrative feels out of your control. Here are five ways to handle it professionally:

Don’t ignore it – Leaving comments unanswered can add fuel to the situation. Show you’re aware and listening.

Respond early and with clarity – A simple, direct response helps steady the conversation and avoids confusion.

Stay aligned – If multiple team members are replying, keep tone and messaging consistent throughout.

Guide the conversation – Use a pinned comment or statement to set context for anyone joining later.

Avoid getting pulled in – Ongoing back-and-forth rarely adds value. Keep responses measured and professional.

Even in difficult moments, how you show up matters. A considered, transparent response can strengthen credibility, while the wrong approach can quickly escalate the situation.

Save this post – you never know when you might need it 😊

When the weather turns good, hospitality and other similar businesses have a huge opportunity to build momentum - but the key is reacting quickly and keeping the energy visible online ☀️

Use Instagram and Facebook Stories throughout the day to show the atmosphere in real time. Whether it’s a busy terrace, drinks flying out, or a packed lunch service, people are far more likely to visit when they can see the buzz happening live.

It’s also the perfect time to repost customer content. Guests sharing cocktails in the sun or tagging your venue creates instant social proof and encourages others to join in while the weather lasts.

If you have an app or customer database, use it. Simple, timely notifications like “The sun’s out and the terrace is open 🍹” can drive spontaneous bookings and walk-ins.

Even your email marketing should reflect the mood. Weather-led subject lines like “Too hot to cook?” or “The terrace is calling…” feel timely, relevant, and much more likely to get opened.

And don’t let the momentum stop once the weather changes. Keep the buzz going afterwards with recap content, photo dumps, reels, and highlights from the weekend to stretch the impact beyond one sunny day.

Good weather naturally brings people out, but smart marketing makes sure they choose you.
