So, what's the point of having a YouTube channel? And why now?

You may have seen my Stories recently where I talked about giving my head a wobble and putting myself and my business Ask Emma Social: The Agency forward for an award.

It felt icky.

I felt like I'd get judged (who does she think she is? 🫣)

But I went ahead and did it anyway.

Because sometimes you've just got to shout out loud and proud about your small business!

And I'm so bloody proud of what I've built over the last 4 years.

From lockdown to now building a done for you social media management agency which is the big dream and its finally starting to feel like 'it's really happening'.

Who knew Oasis lyrics were the reminder we all need to hear sometimes!

Social media is (more often than not), a highlight reel showing off the best sides of people's lives.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for celebrating the milestone moments and happy times ☺️🙌🏻

Just always remember:

People are only showing you the parts that they want you to see.

As a business owner, you might feel reluctant to show more of yourself, like your personality and what goes on behind the scenes - especially when things go wrong 😩 because 'it's not professional' or it's going to give people the wrong impression of how amazing your business really is.

But honestly, when you show all sides to you and your business - the good, the bad and the ugly! That's when you build trust with your audience.

People want to know that you're a human behind that screen. And in life, nothing is ever perfect ALL the time.

If something has gone wrong in your business and you've learned something from it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing that in your content and how you fixed it.

It shows you recognised that something wasn't working and you made it right.

It shows potential clients that you're someone who acts on things rather than just letting it carry on.

It shows you care.

You don't have to share every part of your life on social media for your business account but it deffo helps to build better connections with people if you share the bits that everyone is thinking but they never say out loud.
