We're very proud that Magicalogical has been asked to be part of the Made in Wigan Minis project.

We'll be teaching our young people vital skills alongside Wigan Warriors Wigan and Leigh Community Charity Media Cubs Vince Cleghorne Leisuretec UK and Pianos, Pies & Pirouettes.

With support from Alison Mckenzie-Folan's team Wigan Council and their 'The Deal' initiative.

We're also very grateful for the ringing endorsement we received from Sir Ian McKellen when we shared with him our vision.
We're inviting ALL creatives from around the Wigan & Leigh Borough to get in touch and find out how they can get involved.

It's our ambition to become one combined network using our skills in the Arts and Performance to continue the incredible work done over the years by many individuals and groups such as Richard Ashcroft Brian Cannon Starsailor, The Old Courts artists Al and Al of the The Fire Within Wigan Ian Livesey Ian McLoughlin Scott Chapman Bd2 Studios, and young digital entrepreneurs like Ryan Connor and Joe Mitchinson of Voxy Media House.

There are many more that deserve mention and we hope to work with every one of you to help young people to see a clear pathway to work in the Creative Industries.

We have a small number of places available THIS SATURDAY morning at the Theatre for Performing Arts Parson's Walk Campus where we will be sharing more about our vision. With an excerpt from being performed by Jenna Sian O'Hara Brandon Mccaffrey, Stephanie Maloney, Lewis Sayyadzad and John Siswick, directed by Martin Green.

Paid a visit to Centre for Advanced Technical Studies today to meet with their Vice Principal Louise Brown and their Vice Principal of Employment & Skills Alison Rushton.

Fantastic to see first hand the work that have delivered to completely overhaul the wonderful O&C Rushton Building or as I and many knew it, Th’owd Gas Showrooms.

We’re looking forward to supporting the connection between Borough Businesses, Students and Entrepreneurship in the months and years ahead.

The image is of the incredible painting hanging in the reception - painted by artist Arthur Wasse commissioned by the then ‘Wigan & District Mining & Technical College’ in around 1887. It was painstakingly restored (much like the building itself) and now takes pride of place.

It’s a fitting piece of college history situated at the entrance way to the future for many young people embarking on their journey into further education and employment.

Congratulations to all involved in this project so far. I look forward to working with you in support of all those benefiting from this great hub of learning.

This isn’t a quote.

It’s been manifesting itself in my head for a few months, but with last night’s announcement I found myself waking up with a phrase fully formed.

Today I resolved it.

There is no choice. We must move forward with belief in 2021 and beyond. 2020 gave us a good kicking, but we move in one direction. Forwards.

I am more determined than ever to ensure we never say 2020 won. #2021

The snow arrived too late for Xmas Day this year. Our wish for all those we’ve worked with this last tough twelve months is for a return to normality as soon as possible in the New Year. By waiting for the snow to arrive, we’ve been able to send this belated Xmas wish together with our hopes for 2021 accompanied by a wonderland shot of our studios. So here’s to waiting, as we’ll be rewarded for our patience with the beautiful outcome we all deserve. Happy New Year Everyone. 💜
