These hooks have seriously done some WORK👇🏼

And these are the exact hooks that got views & growth 👀

Save this. Five hook formulas that work because they call out your ideal follower, teach them something useful and show them a result they actually want.

1. I wish more ____________ knew ____________ they can ____________

Call out your ideal follower, teach them something they could easily do and tell them the result. Bonus if it is personal.

EG: I wish more small business owners knew that if they actually sent weekly emails to their list they could increase their turnover by £60k annually, like I did

2. Last week ____________ I ____________ and ____________

Give a time frame. Tell a story, teach from your experience and your results.

EG: Last week I posted 3 trial reels per day and these are the types of posts that blew up

3. I had/have ____________ and ____________ here’s what worked

Share what you do or have that others want. Then show them how to achieve the same.

EG: I had 5 income streams in my business, most people only have 1 or 2. These are what worked

4. POV: you’re a ____________ who wants to ____________ without ____________ and you find my page

Call out your ideal follower and the transformation they want, without doing something they dread.

EG: POV: You’re a small business owner who wants more sales using digital strategy without relying on footfall and you find my page

5. Not to be dramatic but ____________

Drop a statement about something your ideal follower is doing that isn’t working. Explain why and how to fix it.

EG: Not to be dramatic but posting without a hook is like opening a shop and not telling anyone where it is

900 new followers this month. No ads. No paid growth.

Just trial reels posted with intention and hooks written with a specific person in mind.

Save this every time you sit down for a trial reel sesh 👊🏻

Can I tell you something that the follower count on your Instagram profile will never tell you?

Big does not mean better. And more does not mean more money.

I know accounts with 100k followers who are barely making sales.

And I know accounts with 2,000 followers who are converting consistently, booking out their services and generating real, reliable income every single month.

The difference is not the number. It is the engagement rate.
Here is what I mean by that.

An account with 100k followers getting 500 likes on a post has a 0.5% engagement rate.

An account with 2,000 followers getting 80 likes on a post has a 4% engagement rate.

That smaller account has eight times the engagement proportionally, which means eight times the trust, eight times the connection and almost always eight times the conversion.

A large but disengaged following happens for all kinds of reasons.

- Follows that were never genuinely interested.

- Content that attracted the wrong audience.

- Growth that came too fast without the relationship building to back it up.

Follows that came in ages ago & are stagnant

Whatever the reason, a follower who never engages is not a potential customer.

They are just a number.

A small but engaged following is something entirely different.

These are people who open your posts.
Who save your content. Who reply to your stories. Who have been watching you long enough to trust you. And when you make an offer to that audience, they buy.

So if you are sat there feeling disheartened because your following is small, stop.

Focus on serving the people who are already there. Show up consistently.

Teach from real experience. Be genuinely useful. Build the relationship.

Because 500 people who trust you will always outperform 50k people who don’t.

That is what I help small business owners understand, and it changes everything about how they approach their content.

Save this if it shifted something for you. 🔖

Here’s why👇🏼

I see this all the time with small businesses.

The content is good.
The product is great.
The effort is there.

But nobody is stopping because the first line gave them absolutely no reason to.

The truth about hooks and why they matter more than almost anything else in your content👇🏼

On Instagram, whether it is a reel, a carousel or a caption, you have about one second before someone scrolls past you.

The hook is the only thing standing between your content being watched or being ignored completely.

A good hook does one of four things:

It creates curiosity 👀

It opens a loop in their brain that they have to close.

They keep watching to get the answer.

It calls out your exact person 🎯

Women over 40, Gen Z, busy Mum’s, etc.

These words make the right person stop because they feel like you are speaking directly to them.

It promises a result 💰

Specific results make people stop because they want to know how.

It creates instant relatability 😅

Not to be dramatic but. Nobody tells you this. When your ideal customer reads it and thinks, yes, that is exactly me, you have them.

So before you post anything, a reel, a carousel, a caption, ask yourself one question:

Why would a complete stranger, who has never heard of me, stop scrolling for this?

If you cannot answer that, your hook needs work.

This is one of the first things I work on with every single client.

Because you can have the best strategy in the world but if your hook is not stopping the scroll, nobody is ever going to see it.

Save this, you will want it next time you sit down to write content. 🔖

Why this is gold 👀👇🏼

This is so easy and I cannot believe more small business owners don’t know about it.

Trial reels are shown to people who don’t follow you, YET 👀

Instagram pushes them out to brand new audiences, people who have never seen your content, never heard of your business and are just scrolling.

Which means every single trial reel you post is a chance to land in front of your next customer, your next client, your next follower.

And here’s the part that makes this even better.

All you have to do is duplicate your reel before you post it. Then post the duplicate as a trial reel.

That’s it 💁🏼‍♀️

Your original reel goes to your followers as normal.

Your trial reel goes out to non-followers. Same content.

Double the reach.

Here’s how to do it:

Create your reel
Save it as a draft
Tap the 3 dots
Duplicate it

You now have two reels, one for your feed AND one for a trial reel.

When you go into the draft for the trial reel, scroll down past the caption and there’s an audience section. Then there will be a Trial toggle. Turn on the toggle & when you click share, it will share as a trial reel.

Instagram will show it to people outside of your following and after 24 hours you can review the insights and choose to share it to your main feed if it’s performing well.

Tips:

Tweak the trial reels so that aren’t exactly the same as the feed reels.

- Change up your hook
- Change the audio (make sure its trending)
- Edit the clip, or replace it

If you want to get your content in front of more people, specifically people that don’t follow you, start posting trial reels now.

I’ve been using them consistently and the difference in reach has been significant 👀

This is one of the easiest and most under used tools available to small businesses on Instagram right now and it’s FREE.

This is what worked for me👇🏼

Can I tell you something that I wish someone had told me sooner?

Footfall is not a strategy 🫠

And I say that as someone who ran a physical shop for 11 years. I loved every single thing about having a space that people could walk into.

The displays, the products, the conversations, the regulars who came in just to have a browse. I loved it. 🥰

But I also watched, year on year, how unpredictable it was. A bad weather week. Roadworks outside. January. A global pandemic.

Things entirely outside of my control that had a direct impact on my income.

And I knew, I had to stop leaving my sales in the hands of whether or not someone happened to walk past my door that day.

So whether you run a salon, a shop, a travel agency, a studio, a boutique, if your income depends on people physically coming through your door, I want you to hear this.

Your digital strategy is not a nice to have. It is your safety net.

It is your second revenue stream. It is the thing that keeps your business visible, working and earning, even when your door is closed 💷

The good news is, you don’t need a huge following to make it work.

You don’t need to go viral. You don’t need to be on every platform doing everything all at once.

You need Instagram that’s posting with purpose. A website that answers every question and makes it easy to buy or book. And an email list of people who actually want to hear from you.

Those three things, working together? That’s where everything changes 🙌🏻

I built this for my own business from scratch. I now help small business owners do exactly the same.

If you’ve just found my page, hi, I’m so glad you’re here.

Have a look around, hit follow and come and say hello.

✨ A little life update ✨

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here, thank you so much for sticking with me 💛 I’ve been getting used to a new routine since closing the shop and honestly wasn’t sure what to post for a while!

So, here’s a little recap of what I’ve been up to over the summer ⬇️

1️⃣ Celebrating my brother-in-law’s wedding with
Mum 💕
2️⃣ Making the most of my Saturdays off (hello, brunch dates at and 🥐☕️)
3️⃣ Catching up with my best mate and her dog G 🐾
4️⃣ Soaking up the sunshine whenever I could ☀️
5️⃣ Working with the team
6️⃣ Getting stuck into some home DIY, screeding floors and painting 🎨
7️⃣ Working with the team at .water
8️⃣ A lovely summer holiday getaway 🌴
9️⃣ Working behind the scenes with my bestie (exciting things coming 👀)

It’s been a busy few months, but I’m feeling refreshed and ready to get back into sharing more with you all 💫

I loved the shop, but it was time for a change. With not being able to secure a new lease, it felt like perfect timing.

I am now, quite literally, walking on a dream 💭

💔 After 11 years of serving the beautiful Marlborough community, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of Beauty Full Time’s high street store.

When I took over the business in 2014, I never could’ve imagined the incredible journey that would unfold. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful customers and building relationships that have meant the world to me. Your support has been nothing short of amazing, and for that, I am truly grateful.

As my lease came to an end, I faced a tough decision. I could no longer continue running the business from the existing premises and would have had to move to a new unit. The prospect of committing to another 10 years in a physical store simply didn’t align with the future I envisioned.

To keep things running smoothly, it meant making huge personal sacrifices. In 2024, I only managed to take 9 days off. I missed out on birthdays, proper Christmases with my family, and the personal toll was immense.

That said, I’m not saying goodbye! I’m excited to announce that I’m shifting to an online business model, which will allow me to have more flexibility and continue offering my products and services in a way that suits my life.

The store will remain open for the next 4 weeks, so I look forward to seeing you all until the end of July. Thank you again to everyone who supported the store. I’ll never forget the memories we’ve made together. Stay tuned for more updates on the new chapter! 🌟

Meg 💕
