Absolutely mad. I'm in a magazine.

I've ended up with a double-page spread in Sign Update magazine - one of the UK's leading publications for the sign, print and graphics industry.

When the Editor got in touch to ask if I'd be willing to share my story, my first thought was honestly... Oh jeeze I'm not that important!

To me, it's just been a case of turning up, working hard, making mistakes, learning from them, and building something I'm proud of.

From starting as a part-time shop assistant at GK Motor Factors (big love to GKMs!) to taking over the then tiny graphics department, to eventually owning and growing GKs Graphics into what it is today - it's been quite the journey.

I've always wanted to be in a magazine... minds out of the gutter please! 😆 More for my car than me (those who know me will know ). Little did I know the universe had other ideas for my magazine debut, and decided to give my career some love instead.

It says some really lovely things. It turns what I considered a fairly mishmash, fateful journey into something that makes it obvious on paper just how much grit and determination has been powering me and GKs Graphics forward all these years.

When it's literally written in front of your very eyes, you can't help but stop and think... damn, I've done that.

Seeing my business, my journey and all the hard work that's gone into it recognised in an industry publication is something I'm incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported GKs Graphics over the years - customers, suppliers, friends, family and fellow business owners. Every order, recommendation and word of encouragement has helped get me here.

Humbled. Proud. Motivated.

Now... back to work! 🚀

I put my absolute all into this business because I genuinely love what I do, so when someone notices the care and effort behind it all… it really hits home.

And with Cai now onboard too, it’s nice knowing the team effort behind these projects is being seen and appreciated as well.

If you just need to get your business name on your vehicle, it doesn’t have to be overcomplicated or cost the earth.

A clean logo, clear contact details, and people instantly know who you are, what you do, and how to get hold of you. Simple works.

In fact, some of the most effective signwriting is the straightforward stuff - easy to read, professional, and impossible to miss when you’re out on the road 👌

Pricing can be really budget friendly too if you’re after simple text and logos - starting anywhere from around £100. Obviously van size and coverage affect the cost, but there’s options for most budgets depending on how far you want to go with it.

Shaw & Son Landscaping - what a vision from Mitch… and honestly, it looks even better in reality 👌

Love this look on a tipper. Smart, elegant, and just enough detail to grab attention and represent the business properly without becoming a wall of text. Big fat yes from me.

An absolute pleasure working with Shaw & Son from start to finish on this project - from the initial design concept right through to the wrapped up truck.

Printable wrap vinyl for the bonnet and sides, cut vinyl graphics on the wings and tipper sides, then an ACM sign panel for the rear of the tipper (to be fitted later by Mitch).

Commercial signwriting done here at GKs Graphics - you’ll get the professional service as standard… but what you won’t get everywhere else? Personality 😏

🌡️ HOT WEATHER VINYL PSA 🌡️

32 degrees today?! Right then. Two bits of vinyl advice from your friendly neighbourhood sticker monkey.

1️⃣ Want to REMOVE old graphics or stickers from your vehicle?
Today is your day. Park it in the sun and let the heat soften the adhesive for you - it helps massively with removal. Warm vinyl peels far easier than cold, brittle vinyl. (Still take your time though - don’t go jabbing at it like a savage with anything sharp 😆)

2️⃣ On the flip side… if you’ve got dark paintwork or fresh vinyl graphics, try not to leave the vehicle baking in direct sun all day if you can help it. Especially black vans - bodywork temperatures can easily exceed 60°C in direct sunlight.

Even good quality vinyl (like the stuff I use 👀) has its limits. Extreme heat can make adhesive go too soft, cause lifting on stressed edges, movement around recesses, and all sorts of weird little heat-related dramas.

Most of the year in the UK we’re battling rain… today we battle the surface temperature of the sun itself ☀️

Stay hydrated. Keep your vinyl happy by parking in the shade (unless you want to remove it!).

Always a fan of a cute dog-themed print job 😆 Another lovely one to produce for Witham Town Council Open Spaces team - and always appreciated when local organisations continue supporting local businesses.

Did you know you can actually sponsor a dog bin, with the sponsorship money going to a dog charity of your choice? Honestly, if I had a dog, its face would be plastered all over Witham 🤣

Anyway – whether it’s dog poo bin stickers, signage, banners or other large format printing… I’m here for it.

A very big signwrite - and yes, it even fit in the bay 😅

Small but mighty, me.

ADP Classic Racing has been a customer of mine for a long time now, and it’s always a pleasure doing work for them. Whether it’s bespoke graphics for historic race cars or something for the business itself - like this VW Crafter.

Full flood-filled printed recesses showing off a bit of the newer brand styling. It’s looking really smart and ready to get to work representing their clients properly.

Just goes to show what good signwriting can do for building trust in your brand 👌
