We’ve just launched our latest crowdfunding campaign for Tech Jam through Spacehive, a project from LearnPlay Foundation designed to give home-schooled young people (mainly based in Walsall) access to hands-on digital and creative tech experiences including gaming, VR, coding, 3-D printing and more.

We’re now at the stage where we need our network, friends, partners, schools, businesses, community organisations and supporters to help us get this moving.

How you can help:

1. Please share our campaign with your network

2. Comment or engage to help more people see it

3. If you’re in a position to, make a pledge: big or small, it all helps

4. If your organisation could support through sponsorship, equipment, prizes, or partnership, we’d love to talk

Projects like this only happen when communities come together.

If you believe young people should have access to digital opportunities, please help us spread the word.

Midlands:

We are excited to introduce the successful applicants for round one of our Community Grants Programme!

As part of the Inspiring Everyone Programme at the RAF Museum Midlands, the Community Grants Programme – funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is designed for community groups and not-for-profit organisations, these project grants will increase inclusion, access and participation with heritage. The successful applicants will use Royal Air Force stories as the launchpads for engagement with participants.

There are two strands under which applicants can apply:
Flights of Fancy – for creative arts projects
Force-full Stories – for local and community research projects.
There will be three rounds of funding in total so stay tuned for the second round of applications to open!

📷Image Description:
1) Successful Community Grants Applicants. Swipe for details of the projects we are funding in this round! The logos of the three chosen community projects for funding are presented in circles in shades of red and blue.

2) RicNic - This project is a creative, youth led project, which will provide opportunities for young people to showcase their creativity and gain real-world experience. Participants will work to a creative brief to produce a children’s colouring and storybook inspired by RAF stories.

3) Flexus Dance Collective - As part of their existing Project Xpedition, this creative project will engage young people who face barriers to accessing arts, culture, and heritage opportunities. The project will culminate in an intensive creation week resulting in a co-designed and co-produced multi-disciplinary performance in a professional theatre setting inspired by the stories, values and lived experiences of the RAF.

4) LearnPlay Foundation - This research project is a digital media project designed to connect young people from the Black Country with the diverse history of the RAF. The workshops will allow participants to research the RAF, and participants will then be mentored through the creative process to turn their research into high-quality digital content such as narrative podcasts or short films.
