If you think your website isn’t a target for hackers, you might be surprised by the data: an estimated 43% to 50% of small businesses in the UK suffer a cyber incident or attack every year.

Most attacks are automated, with bots trying thousands of login combinations every day. And smaller websites are often seen as easier opportunities.

The good news is that you can reduce your risk of being targeted by hackers by keeping your software updated, your passwords strong, and your website properly maintained.

We’ve broken it all down in our latest blog post, including exactly how and why small business websites get targeted, and the hassle-free way to protect your site.

Posted on: Monday, May 11th, 2026 As a web design agency working with dozens of small businesses, we’re often asked about the real risk of hacking when your site is relatively small and you’re only known within your town. It’s a fair question to ask. You might be thinking, “I’m just John t...

Today is World Password Day, which is very fitting, as we're currently writing a blog post about the risk of having your website hacked as a small business.

If your passwords are easy to guess or you reuse them across multiple sites (something we've all been guilty of once!), now’s the time to take your online security a bit more seriously.

There are a few quick actions you can take to improve your password habits:

✅ Use a password manager so you’re not relying on memory
✅ Turn on two-factor authentication where you can
✅ Swap out weak or repeated passwords for something stronger

Look out for our blog post later this month—we'll share it here if you're curious to learn more about protecting your business's data online.

Today, we’re celebrating International Girls in ICT Day and recognising the women helping to shape the digital world.

We’re proud to have Ari supporting our work as a Front-End Web Developer & Designer. Her creativity and problem-solving skills play a big part in bringing ideas to life for our clients every day

Representation matters. Seeing more women in tech not only strengthens the industry; it opens the door for the next generation to step into roles they might not have considered before.

Let's keep encouraging more girls to explore opportunities in ICT, and here's to the women already making an impact.

Your website might look fully finished once it goes live, but the initial design and launch is only the starting point. Like any business tool that you use on a regular basis, a website needs ongoing maintenance to keep it working properly and bringing in results.

Essentially, the best approach to website maintenance is to think of it as an investment, not a chore.

If you’re wondering what maintenance involves, and, more importantly, why your website needs it, we’ve created shared a no-nonsense rundown of all the work your site will need behind the scenes.

If you’re considering building a website for your business, you’re probably wondering what on earth it costs.

The short answer is this: usually more than £3,000, but probably less than £10,000, depending on exactly what you need.

The actual cost of a website comes down to a few key factors, including what you’re building, who’s building it, why you’re building it, and how technical it needs to be. Every project is unique, so your actual costs may differ.

There’s also support, which typically costs between 5% and 10% of the setup costs per month. It can be tempting to skip ongoing support to “save money”, but regular maintenance usually works out better in the long run.

We’ve shared typical website costs in our latest blog post.

How much should you actually pay for a website?

Sadly, websites aren’t a “build it once and forget it for a decade” situation. If you do take this route, you could be looking at a very inconvenient repair bill later down the line.

Our support model is built around steady, ongoing improvement, so you don’t get hit with one giant invoice every time something needs fixing.

If you’re trying to figure out what your site should cost, this guide will help.

We’re excited to share the recent website refresh we’ve completed for our long-term client, The Enterprise Network.

The old website had drifted away from the client’s priorities and goals. While assessing their new requirements, we took the opportunity to give the entire site a fresh start, restructuring the pages, rewriting the content, updating the visuals, and improving the functionality. TEN wanted to make it easier for busy business owners to quickly find the right support, and the new layout feels cleaner and much easier to navigate, with stronger performance behind the scenes, too.

It’s great to see our clients’ brands continue to evolve online, and we’re really pleased with how this one turned out.

If your website is starting to look tired or feels harder to use than it should, it might be time for a refresh! Contact Kevin to discuss your redesign today:

How many pages should my website have? 🤔

The answer to this question depends on exactly what information you’re looking to present, and for what purpose.

For instance, if you’re a small business looking to share your services and provide contact details, you’ll probably need around six to eight pages.

But if you’re an eCommerce company with dozens of product categories, or you have more technical requirements for your website, you may need 15-20+ pages.

The key is to avoid creating pages just for the sake of it. For most websites, we typically recommend:

✓ Home page
✓ ‘About us’ section
✓ Pages marketing your services and/or products
✓ Blog or news section
✓ Contact page and form
✓ Terms and conditions/legal disclaimers

Regardless of your service, the easier it is for your customers to navigate your site and find what they need, the better.
