Sure, TikTok Shop drives impulse purchases but it is also a discovery platform, showing people why they need your product. Whether it’s £5 or £500 if you have a great offer, an engaging way for customers to shop and content that truly sells your product and why your target market need it, you WILL get sales! ⁣

“TikTok Shop doesn’t work for us because of the tight margins and discount culture”
If you believe this, you aren’t seeing the wider picture and the halo effect that TikTok Shop has.

TikTok Shop is a discovery platform and generates awareness and educates the target market on the product - often they will make the purchase at a later date through Amazon or your website.

It’s very difficult to measure the halo effect of TikTok Shop but it’s there and here’s a great example of how I did this for a brand and boosted their Amazon sales hugely too.

Let’s break down our framework for you to make more money on TikTok Shop as an affiliate 💸

This is how to create the perfect video that ticks the boxes for the TikTok algorithm 👇🏼

- Ideally keep videos 30-40 seconds long but absolutely no longer than 60 seconds
- Use a very strong hook in text-on-screen and in your voiceover or talking to camera
- Always use a voiceover or speaking directly to camera, avoid trending sounds
- Show the product out of the packaging in the first frame of your video
- Demonstrate and explain the product and share your personal experience with the product, not just what is written in the product listing
- Include the price point and any relevant discounts at the time of posting
- Only link one product
- Use a very clear call to action verbally and in text-on-screen

Polished, pretty, cute, over-edited and aesthetic videos are a no, no on TikTok ❌ ⁣

TikTok content HAS to deliver value in the context and be authentic with no over-editing. It needs to be designed to be watched over and over, with fast cuts and clear value or entertainment. TikTok is where you must use a strong hook in every piece of content for both TikTok Shop AND organic content. ⁣

If you aren’t getting a strong and consistent ROI on your TikTok ads, something is going wrong 🤔 ⁣

Too often we see brands and marketers treat GMV MAX and TikTok ads like Meta or Google ads and that’s the first rookie mistake. TikTok ads are a whole other ballgame and require a LOT of other input and incredible amounts of content. ⁣

The TikTok ecosystem all works together so if your ads are going wrong, it could be your affiliate strategy and content quality or it could be that your organic content isn’t working for TikTok Shop. You have to get ticks in each area to get ads to perform, which is why we take on full management or affiliates + ads, as they work in partnership and you need to get both right for strong performance.⁣
