Today I had my first taste of nature Journalling with at 🌿

What’s that, I hear you ask?

It’s taking time out of the daily grind to slow down and fully immerse yourself in nature — noticing what you can see, hear, and feel around you.

Time to reconnect with nature, with others, and with yourself.

I feel completely relaxed. I picked up some amazing drawing and art skills. And I didn’t look at my phone all day (aside from a few photos).

Just space to unwind, let my mind wander, and properly switch off.

The whole experience was a delight from the moment I arrived at Westonbirt Arboretum, welcomed into the community space by Debbie Kersley, who led the session beautifully.

This was the first of several art and nature, inspired workshops she’s running over the next couple of months — well worth looking up if you fancy something a bit different.

Want more local enquiries?

If your website isn’t bringing in the local enquiries you need, you don’t always need a full redesign.

More often than not, just a few simple tweaks can make a big difference.

For example, if you’re a Worcester-based business but your website never actually says that clearly, you’re making it much harder for both Google and your ideal clients to find you.

The same goes for your messaging and proof if it’s too generic or not locally relevant, people won’t feel confident enough to get in touch.

I see this a lot with professional service businesses like local Accountants and HR consultants using Wix. The foundations are there, but a few key tweaks can make a big difference.

Start with the three GEO tips in my post and you’ll already be ahead of most of your competitors.

Would you like me to take a quick look at your website and spot a few easy wins? Type GEO TIPS in the comments! :-)

When you hire a web designer you’ll get More time. More trust. More enquiries. Less stress. Let’s look at this more closely…

1. First impressions really do count

People judge quickly. If your website looks outdated or DIY, it can undermine trust, no matter how good your product or service actually is.

2. It’s built to convert - not just look good

A good website works quietly in the background, attracting and converting the right people.

3. It saves you time

Don’t waste your time wrestling with tech, SEO and GEO or figuring things out. Hiring a professional web designer will save you a lot of time, stress, frustration and doubt.

4. Want your website to get found in Google and AI search?

Be confident your website has been optimised for the right search terms.
You can also add code for FAQs and blogs to appear in GEO search.

5. Ongoing support and flexibility

Designing your website is one thing, ensuring it’s scalable and kept inline with your business growth and development, is another. Working with a web designer gives you that ongoing advice and support, and can they can also complete quick updates for you.

So, instead of worrying “is my website good enough?”, hire a professional web designer and be confident your website is doing its job.

I’ve been supporting Hughes Paddison for about the past 5 years now. Sharing their limitless knowledge about the law and how it can affect our lives.

They’re super talented, conscientious, eloquent, knowledgeable true experts - really at the top of their game. But more than that, they’re also a friendly, supportive and caring bunch of people. They know how important their work is and the difference they can make to their clients, when they’re facing a tough time in their lives.

All the work that they do, all the talent they have and the difference they make is a lot to try and communicate, especially when they’re all so busy supporting their clients. So, I’m hoping we’ll be seeing and hearing more from them after their training workshops.

What I’ve learned recently, whilst delivering these workshops is that many people have negative preconceptions of social media, that it’s inherently bad, doom scrolling lowers your mood, comparison results in increased anxiety, and I agree, used the wrong way it can have all of those affects, I’ve been there and got the t-shirt.

But it’s just a tool.

If we’re in control of how we use it, if we choose why we’re using it and what for, if we limit how much time we’re on it and when, all of these things puts us back in the driving seat.

Then we can start thinking about what the possibilities are?

What do we want to learn?

Who we can follow and why.

What’s lacking that we want more of?

What inspires us?

Where do we want to go next?

Who do we want to connect with?

Who do we want to attract and why?

Social media is just the communication vehicle, what is shared and how comes down to us.

I loved delivering these bespoke training sessions, they were short but hopefully sweet and also useful and relevant just to them.

I’m delivering more and more training sessions recently, people want to understand how to use all the tech for their benefit. We want to relinquish our power over the robots and the AI! If you’re interested and n some bespoke training for yourself or your team, drop me a DM.

Is social media bad?

Is it in control of us?

I’d love to hear what you think.

Happy International Women’s Day ❤️

Today I just want to say thank you to some of the amazing women who have shaped my life — as a person, in my work, as a friend and as a mum.

From Alison, who had me crying with laughter on our walks home from school and is always there cheering me on in anything I do.

To my nanna, whose strength still inspires me. From fleeing the Russians to starting again in a new country, learning the language, building a home and raising three children — your resilience will always stay with me.

To my wonderful mum — always smiling, always uniquely you, comfortable in your own skin and very funny.

To the brilliant women I have the pleasure of working with:
Sami, whose creativity brings so many web projects to life.
Emma, whose eye and marketing expertise help our clients look their best.
Helen, who brings personality, creativity and fun to every shoot.
Lisa who brings hundreds of working women together, to support one another X
And Bridget — thank you for always having my back.

And to my beautiful daughter Izzy — you inspire me every day to be a better person. You’re hilarious, intelligent, loving and completely yourself. Never change ❤️

And finally, thank you to all the amazing women who support and follow me here — it really does mean a lot.

Happy International Women’s Day.

When The Worcester Family Mediation Practice (TWFMP) came to me, their website just wasn’t doing them justice.

It felt clunky to use, important information was hard to find and the overall look didn’t reflect the warmth, care and professionalism they bring to families every day.

Engagement was low, enquiries were limited and it simply wasn’t connecting with the people who needed them most.

So we went back to basics and reimagined the whole experience.

I created a calm, welcoming website that’s easy to navigate, clearly explains the mediation process and truly reflects their compassionate approach.

Softer colours, clearer messaging, helpful resources and a structure designed to encourage referrals and enquiries – without feeling overwhelming.

We also put support in place beyond launch, with ongoing marketing reviews, fresh content, and social media training so the site continues to work hard for them.

The result? A website that finally feels like them – supportive, professional, and there for families when it matters most.

This is exactly why I love what I do.

If you need a website, that shows how you help your clients every day, providing expert advice and outstanding service, get in touch.

I’m very lucky to work with lots of passionate business owners who are incredible at what they do…

…and yet, they struggle to explain why it matters.

Being good at your work isn’t the problem.

Caring deeply about your clients isn’t the problem either.

The tricky part? When you’re so close to your own business, your “why” can get fuzzy, especially on your website or in your marketing.

For a long time, I struggled to find my ikigai, I was even considering a career change.

What I actually needed was to step back and get clear on why I was doing the work I already loved.

That’s where Ikigai helped me.

It gave me perspective, focus and confidence — and brought alignment back into my work.

Now, that clarity sits at the heart of every website I design.

When your why is clear, your message feels more like you and people notice.

If you’re struggling with your website messaging, maybe it’s feeling flat or lacklustre, I’ve shared how I found my ikigai, how you can find yours and why that’s so important in getting your messaging crystal clear.

Your website is often the first impression someone makes of your business — and first impressions matter.

It should reflect who you are today, not who you were a few years ago.

Your values.
Your mission.
Your vision.

And most importantly, it should guide people to take action — whether that’s booking a call, making an enquiry or buying from you.

If your website feels outdated, unclear or no longer truly represents your business, it’s probably time for a refresh.

I offer an hour of 1-2-1 advice followed by an informative email giving you practical tips you can apply yourself.

You can choose a Teams meeting, phone call or if you live near Worcester we can grab a coffee!

If you’d like honest advice on what needs updating, why it matters and how to approach it, drop me a DM.

With the start of 2026, I thought now is the perfect time to reintroduce myself!

I’m Helen, a Wix web designer based in Worcester – yes, where the sauce comes from!

I’ve been working with websites for a long time. Improving SEO, usability, accessibility and writing compelling copy that motivates action!

I started back in 1999 (when we all thought the world might stop 😅). It didn’t. Instead, I went from editing various comprehensive, council websites that need to communicate effectively with the general public to supporting professional service businesses that rely on their websites to communicate effectively to their clients and help them generate the leads they need for a successful business.

Over the years, I learned an important lesson the hard way: trying to help everyone helps no one. Once I focused on service-based B2B businesses – people a bit like me, helping other businesses grow – everything clicked. Adding local charities into the mix made my work feel even more meaningful.

These days, I help clients make their websites work better. That might mean clearer messaging, improving usability and conversions, managing updates, or sorting out the techy bits they don’t want to deal with.

I also support wider marketing – strategy, web copy, blogs, newsletters and social media.

Design-wise, I’m all about bright, clear, spacious sites. Clean, simple layouts that are accessible, easy to use, and help people get where they need to go without thinking too hard.

I love a web challenge, and I’m always keen to meet people who are open to new ideas and want their website to be useful – not just pretty.

Thanks for being here and following along with my little solo business adventure
