Amazon – the Queen of digital transformation took on the challenges of being a business during Covid and smashed it.

Well, that’s what the FN team think anyway!

How did they smash it? When the world came to a halt, Amazon still delivered grass seed to bored homeowners, notepads to worn down parents and the odd bottle of Southern Comfort to Mr Fresh Nous.
The sand for the sandpit may have gone from delivered on your doorstep the next day to 5-7 days but while their customers’ expectations adapted so did Amazon, prioritising triage and rapid responsiveness to meet customer needs, they focused their warehouses on priority items only but set clear expectations which they attempted to overdeliver on and recognised the shift from importance of speed to availability.

Take a look at some of our Amazon lock down purchases and feel free to share yours – we found it an enlightening exercise to do, especially in front of our colleagues!!

With millions of people forced to stay home and endless redundancies being made we wanted to share our story with you to perhaps inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and do something you’ve always really wanted to do.

After way too many years in the corporate world, we decided to take everything we knew and start a Marketing Agency.

Not even sure where our first client was coming from, we tried all the ‘tricks in the book’. We networked, we advertised, we social media’d.

Then one day a chat with someone we knew about something we felt passionate about resulted in our first client. The local council ran a festival and our natural enthusiasm landed us a job – and from there, as they say, the rest is history.

Our advice would be to never underestimate the network you already have. People you know, know people – and if you’ve done a great job, they’ll recommend you. Your network then widens and so does your business.

Take the leap of faith because… mighty oaks from little acorns grow! 🌳
