Why did I stop using Social Media for nearly 2 weeks?

I did zero engagement, no commenting, no posts, no stories, no engagement, no nothing especially on Instagram.

You might think I'm crazy. Did I lose followers? No. Did my business fail? No.

I'll be totally honest. I found that Social Media especially Instagram was taking over my life. The constant engagement and creating contents, it was making my head go deeper under the water. I wasn't seeing clearly. I was burning out.

I needed time away, focusing on my business and my growth strategy. Focusing on my clients and giving them the best of me.

BUT...I'm coming back with a 💥. I will have Free Resources on my website, more tips and tricks and I'm OFFICIAL launching a NEW product in the coming weeks. Turn ON notifications to keep updated.

The biggest takeaway from this is that when you are feeling deflated, burned out, feel like you have no direction, TAKE A BREAK. Look after your mind and body. Without that, you won't have a business.

Your business will still be there. Your followers will still be there.

This is my message for you today. You are more that your business.

Do you feel comfortable taking time away from Social Media?

Pinterest is the ideal place for your potential audience to find you as it is just like a search engine.

Picture this: Someone is looking for a particular topic for ideas. They search keywords. They find a board with lots of pinners with a variety of pins. They follow that board. That board now has hundreds of followers.

What you need to do is be able to pin on that board as you willl then have a ready-made list of followers, who see your pins.

You need to be part of Pinterest Group Boards. But make sure it is relevant to your business, pins and niche.

To find a grioup board on Pinterest:
1. Search for a keyword e.g. 'travel', 'digital marketing' plus 'group board'. Most creators put 'group board' in the name.

or

1. Find your competitors or similar accounts and see if they are in any group boards.

2. Normally, the owner of the board will say how to join the group board in the board description. Make sure you do what it says and don't over pin.

Another way is to create your own group board, which is simple and you are in control. However, it takes longer to build a following. It's best to start with a few people then others will request. Add other pinners that you know in your niche to join the group.

Save for later.

Want to know a little secret?

Branding is key to your business. It helps other recognise your business and feel connected.

One aspect that many people don't talk about is their online brand personal and voice.

There is a reason why I chose this photo of me in the post. What does it convey? How does it make you feel?

It shows a sense of fun and silliness in the nature. Through your images, colour and text, you can let your business' personality shine. You should keep online brand personal and voice consistent across social media platforms and on your blog.

One of the best ways to define your business voice is to write down 10 adjectives that describe your business and how you want others to see your business. Is it informative? bespoke? classy? quirky?

I challenge you to comment your business' online brand voice adjectives below. I would love to hear them.

Is Facebook dead? Is Facebook part of your social media strategy?

The truth is that more people use Facebook than Instagram. Therefore, there is a huge potential of connecting with your target audience and making sales.

Even though a Facebook business page is simply informational, you can still get customers using the correct strategy and a different way to Instagram.

I get 90% of my clients through Facebook.

What? You're not analysing your social media insights! Are you crazy?

You plan your content. You create beautiful images. You write captivating captions. You research hashtags. You schedule your posts. You talk on stories. And repeat...

You're missing one key aspect.

What's the point in spending time on doing all of the above without seeing the results.

Maybe, you don't really know what to look for or what to analyse.

Here I will explain 5 parts so that you can understand what to measure when analysing your data.

1. Post engagement - On each post or story, check out how many people are engaging: the number of reactions, comments, saves and shares. You can see what type of content your audience interacts with.

2. Hashtags on Instagram - Go to post insights and check the number of impressions you got from your hashtags. Then you can see which hashtags are most effective for your posts.

3. Days and Times - Check out what days and times your audience is most active. Use these results to post your content at these times.

4. Audience Demographics - Look at your followers' top location, gender and ages. Is this equal to your target audience? If not, change your strategy to appeal more to your ideal audience.

5. Individual interactions - Do you notice the same handful of accounts which are always liking your posts, writing comments or watching your stories? If they are your ideal customer. Connect with them. Send them a direct message. Turn those followers in to buyers. There is a reason why they keep interacting with you.

Want to get the results you want on Facebook ads?

Most people think promoting on Facebook ads is a quick-fix strategy to get leads. However, it's not.

Because of this, many business owners feel that Facebook ads just don't work.

They will put the objective straight as conversions.

This is the biggest mistake you can make on Facebook ads.

You need to plan your objectives week-by-week through the marketing funnel, not go to the ultimate goal.

1. Brand awareness/ Reach

2. Engagement/ Video views

3. Traffic/ Lead Generation/ Messages

4. Conversions

Using the correct objective in the right order will allow you to get the results you want, build audience pools and not waste your money.

Let me explain the Facebook Ad Objectives:

Brand Awareness = Reaching people who are more likely to pay attention to your ads and increase awareness for your brand

Reach = Showing your ad to the maximum number of people

Engagement = Getting more people to see and engage with your post or Page. Engagement can include comments, shares, likes

Traffic = Sending more people to a destination such as a website

Lead Generation = Collecting lead information from people who are interested in your business

Messages = Getting more people to have conversations with your business in Messenger

Conversions = Getting people to take valuable actions on your website such as making a purchase

You need a big audience to make money from Instagram: WRONG

I used to think this too but actually it's not true. I thought it would take me month to find my first client but in reality, it took me 8 days of posting on Instagram and under 100 followers.

You need to stop focusing on numbers and start looking at how to convert the people who are already following.

Of course, a bigger following means more reach and visibility but you can build a sustainable business with a small audience.

Scroll to find out how I made money with less than 500 Instagram followers.
