So Wednesday night saw our second edition of JQS Rocks take place at Dukes at Komedia in Brighton to a wonderful selection of students, their friends and family, both in the cinema and via zoom. I am so pleased with how the event was received and thank you to everyone who attended either in person or remotely.

• A Wedding to Remember by Sebastian Ashfield - Best Director
• Mouse by Pearl Haig - Best Screenplay
o The judges said: We really felt the characters and the situation jump off the page. Everything is very achievable and we feel this could be a wonderful short film.
• On Dissonance by Marcelo Seguí Gill - Best Short Film
o The judges said: We love an experimental approach to cinema, It shows deep and complex understanding of film. The acting was understated but gave me everything I needed to know. There was enough in the story to keep me hooked but also left ambiguity which I am always a fan of. Overall it shows the most promise and skill in both filmmaking knowledge and practice.
Thank you all for making JQS Rocks what it is, and please do pop along to our website (www.jqs.org.uk/rocks) where you can now watch all of the filmed pieces at your own convenience.
