The summer juggle is over, the school bags are coming back out and it might be time to give your business and your ads a little attention again. 👀

If your Meta Ads Google Ads or Tik Tok Ads have been ticking along in the background, now is a good time to ask: are they actually doing what you need them to do?
Maybe your ads need a proper review or maybe you’re ready to start running ads but don’t know where to begin, or maybe you’re spending money but don’t have the time (or inclination!) to be in Ads Manager every week figuring out what’s working.

That’s where I come in. I can audit your existing ads and give you a clear idea of what’s working and what I’d change, work alongside you through my Done-With-You Ads service, or take the whole thing off your plate with ongoing Ads Management.

No pressure to jump straight into management. Let’s start with a chat, work out what’s going on and see what makes sense for your business.

If your ads could do with a little shake-up after the summer, drop me a message or book a chat via the link in my bio.

ChatGPT Ads... but should your business be using them?

As ChatGPT begins rolling out advertising in more markets, it’s tempting to think you need to be there straight away. I don’t think a new advertising platform automatically means you should move your budget to it.
Before testing anything new, I’d ask four simple questions:

Is my audience actually here?
Does this platform support my business goals?
Do I have the budget to test properly?
Could this budget be better allocated elsewhere?
Another question I think is worth asking: does the platform and the way it operates actually align with your brand values?

As someone who works with values-led businesses, I want to make sure that the platforms and strategies I recommend genuinely align with the businesses I work with. At the moment, I’m still learning about ChatGPT Ads, how they work and what the rollout means before deciding whether it’s something I want to offer as part of my own services. Whether it’s Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads or now ChatGPT Ads, the platform is just the tool.

The strategy, the audience and the values behind the business still matter.

So, for now, I’m watching this one closely rather than jumping on the bandwagon just because it’s new.
Would you consider advertising on ChatGPT, or are you sticking with the platforms that already work for your business?

There are a few things I always recommend before launching paid ads...

✓ Get clear on your offer.
✓ Know exactly who you’re trying to reach.
✓ Make sure your messaging is strong.
✓ Test more than one creative.
✓ Set up your tracking properly.
✓ Choose the right campaign objective.
✓ Build a landing page that converts.
✓ Give your ads enough time to learn.
✓ Keep testing and optimising.
✓ Scale when the data tells you to.
Simple, right? 😅

The truth is, you can do all of this yourself... but if you’d rather spend your time running your business, there are a few ways I can help.
✨ Ads Management: You focus on your business, I’ll take care of everything inside Ads Manager.
✨ Done With You Ads: Perfect if you want to learn while building campaigns together with expert support.
✨ Ads Audit: Already running ads? I’ll review your account, highlight what’s working, what’s not, and give you a clear action plan.

You don’t have to wear every hat in your business.
Sometimes it’s easier (and more cost-effective) to bring in someone who lives and breathes paid ads - that would be me!

Drop me a message if you’re ready to make your ad budget work harder.

Google Ads is changing,.. but don’t panic.
If you’re running Target CPA or Target ROAS campaigns that are showing as “Limited by budget”, this is one update you’ll want to be aware of.
Here’s the simple version...

Until now, some campaigns have been quietly outperforming the targets you’ve set. From 17th August, Google will optimise those campaigns much more closely to your actual Target CPA or Target ROAS. That means if your campaign has been consistently beating your target, you could see performance change unless you review your settings beforehand.

The good news?

✅ Google isn’t changing your budgets.
✅ Google isn’t changing your targets.
✅ You simply need to check that your targets still reflect the results you actually want.

For me, this is a great reminder that Google Ads aren’t a “set it and forget it” marketing channel. The best-performing campaigns are reviewed, tested and optimised regularly. That’s where the real results come from.

Running Google Ads and not sure if this affects you? Drop me a message or leave a comment below, and I’ll happily point you in the right direction.

The family trip to Cornwall came just when I needed it the most!

This wasn’t an Instagram vs Reality kind of holiday, I wasn’t trying to capture every moment, I was too busy living it.

There was no work, no notifications and no Ads Manager. Just quality time with my family, exactly as it should be.
Instead, there was...

Glamping.
Beach days.
Cornish pasties on the beach
Ice creams.
Coastal walks.
Time with my favourite people.

This trip was a lovely reminder that stepping away doesn’t mean you’re falling behind, sometimes it’s exactly what you need to come back with a fresh perspective, more energy and even better ideas.

Having a superstar VA in my corner helped massively. Emma Hughes gave me the confidence to properly switch off knowing the emails, admin and everything else that usually tempts me to check in were being looked after.

Here’s to building businesses that support the life you want to live... not the other way around.

Are you switching off this summer?

A little behind the scenes from On The Beach Festival on Brighton beach, on a school night of all nights!

One thing I’ve learnt from running my own business is that creativity doesn’t always happen at your desk.
Sometimes it happens with your favourite people, great music and absolutely no notifications. The best ideas usually come when you give yourself permission to switch off for a while. Putting time into your business is important, but so is building a life outside of it, because at the end of the day, that’s what we’re all working so hard for anyway.

Google is starting to label AI-generated ads... and I actually think that’s a good thing. 👀

AI is changing how we create content and run paid ads, and it’s undeniably a powerful tool. It can help us test more creative options, speed up production and make campaign management more efficient.

But let’s not forget that AI isn’t a strategy. It doesn’t know your customers, understand your brand and it definitely can’t replace the human insight that makes people stop scrolling.

The best-performing Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads aren’t successful because they were made with AI, they’re successful because they speak to the right people, with the right message, at the right time.
For me, AI should support great marketing, not replace it.The brands that will stand out over the next few years won’t be the ones using the most AI. They’ll be the ones using it thoughtfully, while keeping creativity, strategy and authenticity at the heart of their advertising.
What’s your take? Should brands be more transparent about using AI in their ads?

This week I was setting up a TikTok Ads campaign and it reminded me just how quickly paid advertising changes.
One of the biggest shifts I noticed is that TikTok is moving towards broader targeting and relying more on its algorithm to find the right audience.

It’s a good reminder that successful paid ads aren’t just about choosing the right audience anymore. They’re about giving the platform the best possible creative, messaging and strategy to work with.

A few things stood out while building this campaign:

✔️ Broader targeting is becoming the norm.
✔️ Voiceovers still perform brilliantly.
✔️ Authentic content beats polished adverts more often than you’d think.
✔️ If you’ve used Meta Ads before, TikTok Ads won’t feel completely unfamiliar.

The platforms are different, but the one thing that never changes is that great strategy will always outperform chasing the latest trend.

Have you experimented with TikTok Ads yet, or are Meta Ads still your go-to?
