It you know who it is we can be best friends

This is a curiosity hook, which works, hopefully, by keeping people engaged for longer, as they're curious to find out the info you're initially withholding.

If you saw my reel the other day I showed in an experiment that a reel with a strong hook got more than 10x the views of the exact same video but with a neutral hook.

So this is well worth a go!

If you use it tag me in your reel and I'll share your post on my stories!

I couldn't believe it. But then I could.

Bland hooks are offputting. Good hooks are enticing.

So join me the the hooks challenge starting Monday 16 March!

Every day I'll post a different hook aimed to give your next video the best chance of succeeding.

It's not about going viral. I don't seduce you with false promises like that on this channel. It's about maximising the impact of your content to give you greater visibility.

Will you join my little community and take on the hooks challenge this week?

14/03/2026

I talk about numbers because, realistically, that’s what people expect from me.

But the truth is, I’m much more interested in building a community of people who don’t necessarily want to go viral — they just want to do the best they can on social media while representing their brand honestly.

If you follow along, I’ll be here to reassure you that chasing virality is often a pointless (and pretty unhealthy) pursuit… but I’ll also show you how to get more views from the content you’re already going to post anyway.

Because if all we cared about was going viral, we'd just film ourselves throwing water bombs at strangers or dancing naked in the street.

That might get views… but it wouldn’t help anyone’s business.

This community is about maximising our potential:
to grow,

To build trust,

And ultimately to sell.

If that sounds like your kind of approach, make sure you follow along.

Hooks week starts Monday!

Can't wait to see how this one goes.

Make sure you're following along because next week is Hooks Week, where ever day I'm gonna give my followers a plug and play hook to help them get seen online, with successes being shared in my stories.

You coming along?

I’ve been noticing a lot of POV footage popping off lately — especially those clips shot with Meta Ray-Bans. So I ran a little experiment. 👀

Day 1:
“Day 1 of trying to get free Meta glasses.”
POV footage (cheap neck mount) of me badly washing up while doing a voiceover.
➡️ 1,300+ views
A normal non-POV video I posted the same day?
➡️ < 400 views.
Interesting…

Day 2:
Another POV clip — chopping mushrooms and making coffee.
Tested two hooks on trial reels:
• “Day 2 of trying to get free Meta glasses”
• “Is this an ADHD thing?”

Everything else identical.

The ADHD hook won — so I pushed that to my main feed.
➡️ 2,500+ views.
Meanwhile a non-POV video from the same day…
➡️ < 300 views.

So… should everything be POV now?

Day 3:
I tested whether it was the POV format or the content.
Same script.
Same voiceover.
Two versions:

• Talking to camera
• POV of me washing up

Results:
Talking head: 235 views
POV washing up: 297 views
Neither performed like Day 1 — possibly because this time I actually washed up properly… so there was no rage-bait. 😅

Conclusion:
POV can grab attention.
But the message is what keeps it.

POV might get the view.
Substance gets the likes, comments, and follows.

How do you think this will go? Will the evocative hook work best or will it suffer from being pushed out to non-followers who.

11/03/2026

Everyone send this to , yeah?

This is what happened when I walked through Doncaster this morning.

Although I also do freelance work, both as a social media manager and as a trainer, my social media began (and continues) with working for the company that runs the market.

It's a job that has enabled me to work with some of the loveliest, most genuine people I've ever met, and it's no surprise that they are so popular on social media.

Please look up Doncaster Markets on socials and give us a follow.

Jk, I loved that comment really. Follow me for authentically bad washing up and more BTS of the life of a middle-aged content creator
