Aurora Borealis captured in the Cairngorms National Park

Loch Riecawr, Dalmellington, Scotland.

One of the darket places at night I have ever been! This is easily my favorite dark sky location. The amount of stars visible is something out of this world.

This shot consists of 220 images stacked into one single image to show the star trails. I love how it shows the movement between the earth and space. It really makes you realise how insignificant we really are to this huge ancient universe.

Galaxy Fields

The milky way galaxy sat alongside Andromeda! This image was captured whilst I was actually trying to capture the aurora borealis, unfortunately the northern lights were not visable from my location so milky way it is!

Yorkshire Glow

The Aurora Borealis captured over Slingsby, North Yorkshire.

Such an amazing experiance getting to witness the northern lights at such a high level this far south! The lights were dancing across the sky for hours giving the best display I have seen to date.

Nights Haze

A very faint Milky way shot from Poppleton, York, North Yorkshire.

I was actually shooting the aurora borealis on this occasion however, in true Yorkshire style the fog started rolling in once the temperature had dropped. Once I could no longer see the aurora on camera I decided to try out a shot I have had in mind for a good while. Really pleased I have finally Captured the rolling mist with the milky way making the shot extra moody!

New Year's Eve Borealis shot from Slingsby Bank in the Howardian Hills, North Yorkshire. What an amazing way to see in the new year! There is some really dark skies around the Howardian Hill's proving you don't have to travel too far to view the night sky in it's full glory. Visit York Yorkshire Post
