As we reach the last day of 2025 and have T-7 hours until the ball drops at midnight here in the UK I wanted to let whoever reads this to know I am so proud of you. I know that might sound odd coming from a perfect stranger on the internet but there it is.

As we reach the time of year of highlight reels and best of the year photo dumps/carousels it can be easy to feel deflated that you ‘haven’t achieved enough’ or ‘didn’t do enough with your year compared to x, y and z on social media’.

But I want you to remember one very important thing that no matter how good or bad your year of 2025 has been even if you just survived each day as best you can you won. Life is hard enough without feeling like you had to have made big decisions or done big things with your time. Getting through daily life can be enough of an achievement if you have struggles going on in your life.

So, however you spend your New Year’s Eve whether it’s going to a big party, going to see fireworks somewhere or like me staying in and maybe staying up until midnight (if I can stay awake long enough after getting up so early) I hope you feel proud of how far you’ve come this year. And like I said I’m proud of you for doing life how ever you choose to do it no matter how different that might look to someone’s highlight reel showing 30 seconds of the last 12 months.

Is this look too much? Will people judge me for wearing my new bloomers with Christmas cardigan and headband? Am I being too loud?

Sometimes these intrusive thoughts can leech in even at the most festive time of the year. You can talk yourself into dulling your shine to make others feel more comfortable. I used to let these thoughts talk me out of wearing, doing and being who I was inside.

But after all the personal struggles and grief I’ve gone through the last few years I’ve made myself a promise to let the little Lou into the outside more. That includes being ‘too loud’, ‘too weird’ and the classic criticism the jealous people of ‘too much’. Life is much too short to be anything but you in all aspects of your life.

Here’s to starting 2026 as we mean to go on and living life our way and for ourselves for once. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day with your loved ones whatever your day looks like.

3 years 🖤

3 years since I got to see her smile, hear her voice and bask in her warmth. My heart is still utterly shattered from her loss but I am trying to find a reason every day to be happy no matter how small. It never fails to astound me how the loss of someone who was your whole world can turn your life on its head and alter you so completely.

The loss of my Nana was just that for me. And 3 years later I’m still getting to know who I am as a person after that change. Christmas will always be a special time of year for me thanks to the memories that my Nana and other grandparents created for me. But, it is also the hardest time of year for me as I lost 3 out of my 4 grandparents at this time of year.

I didn’t intend for my first post back after my summer break to be a sad or mournful one but my Nana shaped so much of who I am and is my reason why I decided to bet on myself and jump into this business head first. I know she always worried I wouldn’t find my purpose in life but maybe my purpose isn’t to work or live how others think I should but how I want to. I wish she was here to see it but boy do I feel her watching over me cheering me on like she always did in life.

If you’re also grieving a loved one(s) at this time of year I hope this post helps you feel less alone and knowing that though the pain never leaves you you can take life one step at a time to wherever your heart desires. 🖤

🎵🎶GUESS WHOS BACK, BACK AGAIN…🎶🎵

On our last morning in York back at the start of April me and my Mama had a chill morning walking along the city walls - my Mama clinging to me for dear life as she isn’t the biggest fan of heights haha. We ended up at one of the small cafes found on many bridges in York for some yummy açai bowls for breakfast in the sunshine.

Then we headed over the road to take a look at the incredible Clifford’s Tower which had a lot of historic but tragic ties to York’s Jewish heritage. We had become familiar with it watching a TV show on channel 4 called Patience which follows the named main character who is a young autistic woman who inadvertently helps the police solve crimes with her own way of looking at the world. We didn’t pay to go and see it on the inside but it was very impressive to see it looming over York in person.

We then went to visit the York Castle Museum which was a former Victorian women’s prison that has been converted into a museum about York throughout the ages. It was such an incredible immersive experience to visit that I didn’t capture many pictures of including a recreation of a Victorian street filled with shops and actors in costume in the former prisoners exercise yard. I highly recommend if you’re a history nut like me who loves to see how despite the change in circumstances people are really the same deep down with dreams and desires.

to the 75th anniversary of VE Day 2020 back in the world of the ‘vid (before I discovered bleach and hair dye) when the world was still closed. But me and my mum dressed up and hung up the bunting with the rest of the country to remember those who fought for our country, those who never came home and those who’s wartime efforts were so secret they weren’t realised until decades later - looking at you Bletchley Park hero’s and heroine’s!

But I wanted to draw attention on the 80th to my 2 wartime heroes two of my Grandma’s older brothers who served in the war - my Great Uncle George (right) who served in the Royal Navy onboard HMS Essex and my Great Uncle Ernie (left in the glasses - who I never met) who served in the army on the guns. I will never not be proud to be their great niece.

On behalf of not just a grateful country, but a grateful world all these decades later - THANK YOU for your sacrifices and service.

Put a 🐦‍🔥 in the comments to thank everyone who did their bit and pulled together as a country in such a dark time. May we never forget. 🥰

📍York Minster Cathedral, York
📍Betty’s Tea Room, York

Join me and my mum for our final full day in York which happened to be my 35th birthday on 3rd April 💃🏻💃🏻

For this day I decided I wanted to visit York Minster Cathedral as despite being agnostic I find the history of churches and religious sites fascinating. And York Minster didn’t disappoint it’s an impressive building from the outside but it’s inside its beauty truly comes to life. Me being me I even found a brass plaque on the wall dedicated to a lady in waiting to Elizabeth I in amongst all of the memorials that adorned the walls. Also, every church I visit I always like to light a candle 🕯️for each of my grandparents in their memories as it always makes me think of those that I’ve lost.

After leaving the church we had a bit of time to explore the Shambles which is a street that has existed since medieval times and you can see how the buildings get wider as they go higher. But being a historical site it often needs a lot of conservation work so there was a lot of scaffolding up when we were there. Imagine the scores of people who’s feet have walked down that street and the stories if could tell. Breathtaking.

Then we headed back to our hotel and changed ready for our special afternoon tea at Betty’s tea room that was my birthday present from my parents. It was such an incredible experience and us being British we had to come away with some tea and cake to take home - me being me mine was a Christmas blend of tea that they had to hunt out for me in the stockroom 🤭🤣

📍York, Yorkshire

To celebrate me surviving my first full week of being 35 (as of yesterday) come for a little throwback with me and join me and my mum on our first afternoon after arrival in York on April Fools Day (but it’s not a joke).

For our first afternoon after arrival we dropped our bags off at our hotel after arriving nearly an hour after we were supposed to get to York thank you broken down train ahead of us on the tracks - but bonus we both got half our ticket price back from the delay! We decided to go for a wander and get our bearings for this lovely city and just explore. So we walked down towards York Minster Cathedral (more on that in a later York post) and got our first glimpse of the Shambles which is a medieval street in York where the buildings get wider as you go up each floor. Then we found a nice pub for a beer and had a delicious dinner at a small Italian restaurant near the cathedral. And we even found Betty’s tea rooms that we would be going to on my birthday for afternoon tea just purely by chance.

Come pack for our first full day of York adventures which I was full of so much interesting history from the surrounding area!

Today was a day that made my heart sing. 🥰

Got to meet up with one of my cousins Ellie who lives all the way in Barnard Castle in County Durham so I don’t get to see her nearly as often as I want to living on the south coast. She is my Dad’s cousin on my Grandad’s side because my Dad originally comes from Leeds but moved down south when he was 18 months old so his whole family still lives up north.

We had to juggle things around but we made it work even if only for a couple of hours. I had last seen her 5 years ago at my Grandad’s funeral just before the pandemic hit in 2020. Through this business I hope I gain more times like this to see my family up north more often than happy or sad special occasions.

The youngest daughter in her side of the family meets the youngest daughter in mine on my pre-birthday day 🥰

POV: All your inner cat wants to do is sunbathe and snooze in the spring sunshine ☀️ 🥰 like your wee boy…

Manifesting having days like this moment felt for me that don’t include setting multiple alarms crazy early in the morning or worrying about work that just puts more money in someone else’s pocket. To have the luxury to design my own life on my terms. Every one should have that right.

I’ve just started on my own path to get to that end goal and I am so excited to help others out of the mundane Groundhog Day that is working for someone else’s dream. Join me on that path and create your own little slice of heaven whatever that looks like for you not for someone else or a faceless corporation where you’re just a number on a sheet.

~ Got a steaming mug of Ukon Turmeric Tea ☕️ ✅
~ Get to spend the day cosy and reading my book in front of the Netflix fireplace ignoring the drab weather outside ✅

When we affiliate with the company we partner with there are different levels and products that we purchase and get to have for our own use. One of these includes this Ukon turmeric tea which is grown in Japan using our company’s world famous (or should be in my opinion) Kangen water 💧

Initially, I thought the turmeric tea wouldn’t be for me as I’ve tried other brands and the taste was always too strong and put me off straight away. But unlike the others I’ve tried the Ukon tea has such a subtle flavour that I barely notice it and I will regularly reach for it on days like today when I’m not having caffeine to help me get better sleep when those Sunday before work anxiety feelings inevitably strike. I’ve also added it to a hot honey and lemon drink whenever I’ve had a cold in the colder months so the anti inflammatory benefits can help ease my sore throat/cough sooner. Also, it’s just plain cosy feeling on days like today where I don’t want to go outside in the weather ☔️ and wish I was somewhere warm instead.

☘️HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY ☘️

“May your troubles be less and your blessings be more.”

Throwback to October 2015 when I was lucky enough to see my boys in green play at the Olympic stadium in the World Cup (the first and only time so far sadly) with my Mama. It was a great day surrounded by fellow Ireland fans and a sprinkle of Italians (who they were playing) but it was such a great craic as they say and I can’t wait to see them again.

People always ask me ‘why do you support Ireland, you’re English’ and I always respond ‘well technically I’m Scottish but…’ because I don’t have an answer why I just do. I remember watching my first Ireland rugby match on TV when I was late teens early twenties and seeing Ronan O’Gara and Brian O’Driscoll play for the first time and I was just sold from that game on.

The tops me and my Mum wore on the day (that I bought in Dublin on a trip with her btw) are my lucky Ireland shirts as I say because I always wear one when I’m at home watching for good luck. And they’ve been lucky more often than not.

I know it’s a Monday so not really a day for celebrating but as the Irish say - Sláinte! 🍻 ☘️
