As storm Ciaran rages overhead, I thought I would take a moment to mention where we are to, as they say, on the second DI Karen Dee novel called Footsteps in the Sand. At the moment it is going through a final edit, with both my wife and I are reading it each night. After each session I make a note of any changes that I need to make, and each morning I make those changes. We are about two thirds of the way through the novel and as soon as that is complete, it will be published. When I have spare time, I am working on the third book and currently around 6,000 or so words have been committed to paper. It seems like a long way to go, but I have a plan, so hopefully the story will flow out of me in the weeks ahead. Here's a sneak preview of the cover of the third book.

I have been using Upwork to create cover designs for my DI Karen Dee novels. A designer called Zahra has produced three great designs which I will be using going forward. This includes a redesign of the cover for the first novel. I hope you like it.

72,500 words into my latest book. Quite a milestone. Getting exciting now.

My second Witches of Witherwack novel has just past 65,000 words and is getting exciting, well I think it is anyway. As the story nears conclusion I am comfortable it will meet the ending quite nicely. You should be aware I wrote the end many months ago. That isn't something I normally do but the story seems to be marrying up quite nicely. I seem to have lost my mojo a little on the painting front, maybe the book and the summer have combined to take me away from my brushes for a while but I am sure I'll get back to it soon. Anyway, I hope everyone is busy out there and I'll let you know when the story is finished in due course.

A little while ago I was speaking to Leo Ogier, a young local artist, about potentially producing a couple of paintings that I could use as covers for my science fiction book series. I am pleased to say he has now produced the images and I have now created the new covers. I have attached them both to this post for you to see how talented he is.
