▶️Maiden edition pioneered “cross-continental collaborations”, which seeks to unpack extent to which 7 AU Agencies are working together

"What do you get when you mix Nigerian superstar Burna Boy with Ghanaian award-winning Fuse ODG? You get a beautiful bonfire of creativity and vanities, which some of us call the 3P Strategy.

Power. Priviledge. Platforms.

Both have used their soft power of celebrated music icons as a privilege to create new platforms for amplifying the African narrative.

Ergo, "3 Cold Dishes," a Pan-African thriller executive-produced by Burna Boy, and "54 Countries" that is co-written by Fuse ODG is also born.

These are examples of Africa's Creative Economy in meteoric rise. The tectonic plates are shifting.

Practice has run ahead of the policy of the AU, which calls for full signatures and ratification of the Kenya-based "Africa Audiovisual Cinema Commission (AACC)" - to do precisely some of the things these two superstars are doing to underscore the AU as a global player.

While many AU member states, such as Ghana; Kenya and Zambia possess national institutions with a focus on social protection, the continent would be more equitable if more AU member states signed and ratified the AU Protocol on Social Protection.

It's a landmark document that offers greater protection of African peoples, including the informal sector.

Let's call on our member States to ratify this Protocol today!

This edition of the Show unpacks two of the meetings by the African Commission on Human & People's Rights -- Gender & Extractives; Status of Ratifications.

On Extractives, the Show calls for greater synergy between African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) and ACHPR on the conversation, as well as AfCFTA secretariat.

More AU agencies need to work together for a more equitable continent. The ACHPR needs to lead on this!
