PATTERNS AS I OBSERVE
Life is a pattern of panoramic order
Of beauty, artistry, colour and dance
In humans, animals, the inanimate
In creation and in universe.
I see the young and old dance
With elegant moves to rhythmic tunes
Forming shapes that defy description
Patterns that make jaws to drop.
I see beauty in bees, boughs and butterflies
The changing colours of chameleons in Cameroon
The dazzling dazing rainbow of trout fish
The invisible fire-fly firing its fiery fire.
I see patterns in poetry in noblest order
Brewed from the scribblings of scribes
The sonnet, elegy, epic, ode and ballad
The dirge, lullaby, lull-a-dirge and free verse.
I see the crimson red of flowered rose
Glittering gold of gold-plated graves
God-given greenery of our green fields
And black, the star to secure our shaky society.
