Good news for the Akosombo township!

The community will soon have a fully equipped modern library with updated books and reliable internet access.

Honourable Thomas Nyarko Ampem has officially commenced work on the library project originally initiated by the late Mrs. Annancy, former Headmistress of Akosombo International School (AIS).

Workers are currently on site, working diligently to ensure the speedy completion of the facility.

According to Honourable Thomas, the library will be transformed into a modern learning centre, fully resourced with computers and high-speed internet access to serve the needs of the community. He further stated that the library will be dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Annancy in honour of her remarkable vision and initiative to establish a library for the people of Akosombo.

A heartfelt thank you to Honourable Thomas for this commendable effort.

Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman and Deputy Minister of Finance, had the honor of cutting the sod for the construction of a modern administration block at Anum Senior High School — a project fully funded by GETFund.He expressed special appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for initiating and supporting such a significant and impactful project.Hon. Ampem extended his gratitude to the Queen Mother of the Anum Traditional Area, Nene Ama Korantemaa I, the Chairman of the Volta Presbytery, Rev. Felix Akresu-Anim Danso, the Headmistress of ANSEC, Mrs. Stella Naa Enyo Atiase, as well as the students, old students, and party executives who came out in their numbers to support the event.As part of his continued commitment to improving conditions at the school, he announced that a contract had also been secured for the construction of a new boys' dormitory. In addition, he made a financial donation towards a water project to help address the long-standing water challenges faced by the students.
