NDC Internal Race: Salvius Beni laces his boots for Deputy Regional Secretary slot

Salvius Beni, a staunch member of the national democratic Congress has declared his intention to contest for the NDC’s Deputy Upper West Regional Secretary slot as the party is readying for reorganization to strongly position itself ahead of the 2028 race.

While declaring his bid to contest for the Deputy Regional Secretary position in the region, Mr. Salvius indicated his commitment towards uniting the party base, organizing and empowering the party grassroot to strategically position the NDC for another victory.

“Our party has always stood for unity, grassroots empowerment, and progressive leadership. At this critical moment, we need a Regional Secretariat that is not only efficient but also accessible, responsive, and fully connected to the needs of our members across every constituency”.

The young entrepreneur is promising to contribute meaningfully towards strengthening the structures of the party, improving party communication and supporting the regional secretary to deliver coordinated and result oriented administration.

“I step forward because I believe I can contribute meaningfully to strengthening our structures, improving internal communication, and supporting the Regional Secretary in delivering a well-coordinated, results-driven administration”.

Salvius when given the node, would focus on ensuring effective communication between the national, regional, constituency, and branch levels stressing that his leadership will “promote discipline, transparency, and teamwork within our party structures”.

He appealed to NDC party faithful to get him elected as the Deputy Upper West Regional Secretary assuring delegates of his commitment towards building a vibrant, formidable, and victorious NDC in the Upper West Region.

BRIEF PROFILE OF SALVIUS BENI AUTHORED BY HIM

Salvius Beni was born and bred in Wa to Albert Beni and Vivien Nuzagl, both educationists but also very active members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Raised by politically active parents, the party’s doctrines were inculcated in my upbringing making me grow into the party, hence I am no stranger at all.

Becoming politically active just after a decade old, which passion was ignited by an astute politician and acclaimed parliamentarian, the late Hon. Edward Salia (whom I affectionately called Uncle Salia), I painstakingly followed the activities of the great NDC despite my tenderness.

Leadership fished me out when I was nominated and subsequently elected by my fellow compatriots in St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary as Vice President of the Jirapa Area Students Union (JASU).

Entering into the University of Professional Studies, Accra, I took up the mantle to serve as Secretary of the Tertiarty Education Institutions Network (TEIN) in 2019 and upon my hard work, was elevated to the high office of President of TEIN UPSA in the 2020/2021 academic year.

My tenure as President saw the unprecedented victory of the NDC at the polling stations on campus winning 2/3 polling stations in the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Also, with self sponsorship and that of other benevolent party loyalist, I championed several reforms of the fraternity including the introduction and launch of the TEIN fund, rebranding of TEIN with pull-up banners, the process of acquiring a self-owned canopy, table and chairs for TEIN UPSA, countless hostel and classroom outreach tours which saw the participation of party stalwarts like Hon. John Dumelo and Hon. Edem Agbana, failed attempts of holding sporting, cleanup activities and student participation in media talk shows for the great NDC party under the guidance of Mr. Malik Basintale.

I also worked very closely with the then patron, Prof. Fred Awaah (now board Chairman of the National Sports Authority) to bring to reality the vision of making TEIN UPSA the most vibrant intellectual branch of the party nationwide and this is evident for all to see.

I served as research assistant to Hon. Samuel Abdulai Jabanyite (MP for Chereponi as he then was) from August 2019 to January 2021. From June 2021 to January 2025, worked with Empire Domus as Project Manager and Procurement Officer and can confidently say I have maintained a good teamwork with all relevant stakeholders while ensuring utmost standards in realizing the vision of the company.

In December 2022, I lobbied and attempted becoming the National TEIN Coordinator for the NDC after the National Youth Conference in Cape Coast, but was unsuccessful in this bid.

From February 2025 till present, I established and manage ALSALSY Limited, an infrastructural development firm with expertise in road construction, building construction, plumbing and sewerage, energy transmission and distribution, real estate and goods supply.

It is, therefore, with this track record that I present myself to be elected to the high office of the Deputy Regional Secretary of the NDC in the Upper West Region to afford me the opportunity to bring on board fresh ideas to complement the tireless leadership of the Regional Secretary to consolidate the gains of the governing NDC so far and position the party towards sustaining the 11/11 victory in the region in 2028 and beyond.
