In November of 2012, the English version of embarked upon the difficult task of compiling a variety of new enterprises that collectively would depict “the new face of Greece”. The daunting goal was to assimilate an all-encompassing database of fresh and unique start-ups primarily comprised of exquisite hospitality venues, emerging musicians and artists, fashion and jewelry designe

rs, producers of organic gastronomic and cosmetic products all borne from the rich bounty and nature of Greece. This compilation of young cutting-edge entrepreneurs with their unique products and services would provide the knowledgeable connoisseur with a new image. The ultimate goal would be to unravel the old stereotypical images and to bring forth a refreshing new image and dimension. This new persona would adhere to and respect the traditional values while at the same time expound on the gigantic strides of those that chose to dare in a climate of uncertainty and crisis. The Living Postcards endeavor rapidly sparked a plethora of global interests. Strategic partnerships ensued with dynamic sites from abroad such as travelfashiongirl.com stay.com, and Adorn Magazine from India, to name a few, all having the goal of showcasing the cutting-edge products and services depicted within the Living Postcards platform. These actions were followed by the professional representation and strategic placement of these products and services for easy access to the end-user consumer. A natural evolution of the Living Postcards’ showcasing of these products and services was the planning of interactive events and presentations. These events would further support and expound the energy and dynamic of the new Greek entrepreneur and afford the attendees of these events to meet and interact with these individuals and their products and services. To facilitate all these endeavors, Living Postcards provides a well-heeled production team comprised of professional writers, photographers, directors, and bloggers all scouring throughout Greece constantly seeking out “the new face” of this ravaged land. Once identified, these persevering entrepreneurs and their products are showcased, guided, supported, and promoted via a variety of social media channels and efforts. In the very near future, Living Postcards is in the planning stages of a variety of further promotional endeavors. The next tier of support would be the development of a constantly evolving and physically traveling “pop up store” that would “transport and transpose” this message throughout Greece and abroad…..blaring this is “the new face of Greece".

In the Cyclades, architecture is more than style; it is a way of living shaped by light, landscape, and time. Stone-built houses, marble details, whitewashed walls, and quiet terraces reflect a tradition of simplicity and authenticity that has endured for centuries across the Aegean islands.

Several years ago London-based Peter and Susan Marston chanced on Tinos Island waiting for a delayed flight at Mykonos.
They were curious; travelling the Aegean for years no one had spoken of the beautiful quiet island nearby.Charmed, they viewed impossible shared owners. A year later, somehow, miraculously, the Marstons owned it and work began. And, equally miraculously a year later it opened for visitors.
It had become a passion for Peter and Susan, designing, making and creating for the project. Local Tinos people helped and many new friends were made.

Villa Athermigo is located in the picturesque village of Gavalohori outside the historic town of Chania. The fully-serviced villa can be rented as a whole to accommodate parties of up to ten people or as individual self-contained Cottages each sleeping between two and four people.

A 250 year-old olive oil press has been recently restored to create an elegant boutique-style villa that combines discreet rural chic with all the amenities that holidaymakers expect. Guests in all three accommodation units share a luxurious lounge and kitchen as well as the courtyard and garden with its secluded private swimming pool.

The name "Athermigo" derives from the traditional olive pressing process that is typical of the locality. The three deluxe accommodation units are named after the trees on the property: Elia (Olive tree), Rodia (Pomegranate tree) and Karydia (Walnut tree).

Robert McCabe was born in Chicago in 1934 and grew up in Rye, New York. His father worked for a picture newspaper in New York City, and as a result of his father’s gift of a Kodak Baby Brownie in 1939, McCabe started taking photographs when he was five. His earliest quest was for newsworthy photographs, and he gathered images of hurricanes, drownings, and auto and train accidents. His interests shifted to people, still life, and landscapes during three years in western Massachusetts where little of dramatic interest occurred.

His first photographs of Europe were the result of a trip in 1954 to France, Italy, and Greece while an undergraduate at Princeton. He returned to Greece in 1955 and again in 1957 and traveled extensively in the Aegean, shooting with a Rolleiflex and Plus-X film. In 1957 he took a series of color photographs in the Greek Islands at the request of the National Geographic Society.

His black and white photos were first exhibited in 1954 and 1955 at Firestone Library at Princeton, and in a traveling exhibition which ensued. During this period, he also appeared on television with Ambassador George Melas giving a photographic tour of Greece. In 1967 a selection of photographs was exhibited at the Olympic Gallery (now Olympic Tower) in New York City under the auspices of Spyros Skouras. The publication of his first book, Metamorphosis, was in 1979. Since then, he has published more than 20 books and catalogs.

His bestselling book, Greece: Images of an Enchanted Land 1954-1965 was published in 2004 by Quantuck Lane Press in the U.S. and by Patakis Editions in Greece. Since then he has published over 20 books and is currently working on several more.

Mr. McCabe's work has been exhibited internationally including shows in London, Paris, Brussels, The Hague, Budapest, Seoul, Tokyo and Istanbul. Within Greece, his photographs have been displayed at several Athens locations including the Acropolis Museum, the Cycladic Museum and the Benaki Museum, as well as at locations in Patmos, Mykonos, Santorini, Thessaloniki, Monodendri, Delphi, Patras, Corfu, Amorgos, Serifos, and Poros.

Contemporary Greek design is experiencing a dynamic moment of renewal, shaped by a generation of creatives who balance cultural heritage with a contemporary international perspective.

Particularly in Athens, designers move fluidly between art, craft and object design, creating works that combine storytelling, material experimentation and architectural clarity.

Athens-based designer Danai Gavrili presents Zazá Damò, a project that transforms vintage textiles and materials with a past into one-of-a-kind lighting objects.
Each piece begins with the discovery of a textile; hand embroideries, woven fabrics, silks or velvets originating from family heirlooms, personal collections or materials entrusted to the designer.

These fragments of textile culture are reinterpreted as sculptural lamps, where historical fabrics meet
contemporary forms, an approach that reflects the project’s central idea: redesigning memories through light and material.
Rather than serving simply as decorative shades, the textiles become the conceptual core of each object.
