The International Consulting Program hosted by and has come to a conclusion, and I can confidently say that was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The fellow students I met and grew close with, the professors who helped me along the way, as well as the clients I had the pleasure to work with will always hold a special place in my life.
In Athens, I had the opportunity to assist Triton Asset Management with expanding their products and services into a new market. Triton had already firmly asserted themselves into markets such as shipping, technology, and retail. After conducting research, I discovered Greece’s economy had made a superb recovery from the crisis it suffered in 2013 and found that a perfect opportunity for Triton would be to invest in real estate both in Greece and possibly other markets nearby.
The unemployment rate has reached a 14-year low, translating to higher confidence in consumer spending which has led to an increase in property prices. With tourism continuing to serve as the backbone of Greece’s economy and foreign investment rapidly increasing (due to Greece’s simple Golden Visa requirements), a variety of real estate opportunities presents itself to a firm like Triton. Short-term rentals (AirBNB), residential properties, and commercial properties would all be great investments across Greece.
To go more in depth than just Greece’s economy as well as the international markets of Italy, Cyprus, and Portugal, there are many trends I suggested that would satisfy Triton’s values and goals. Investing in projects that are eco-friendly, multi-functional, and high-tech would not only achieve the goal of maintaining ESG standards that my group had discussed, but it can also provide Triton a much better return on their investments.
Another huge thank you to my professors, the deans at , my amazing team, and my clients in both Richmond and Athens for making ICP a rewarding experience that I won’t ever forget.
