If you try sometimes you get what you need.✨

Manifesting & curating a business you love and can feel proud of is not easy. It take some guts (imagine that feeling of just rounding the top of a roller coaster), confidence (you are not an imposter!), and humility (when in doubt, just be humble.) And after all that, the result may not be exactly what you envisioned but instead just what you needed (especially in a post-50 life.)

As I near the 5 year mark of MPR (more on that later!!), I’m still working out the work/life balance thing (a little more life than work this week πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·) but finding more often that both seem to enjoy each other’s company. And it’s more of an interconnectedness than a balance. And finding beautiful places to work certainly doesn’t hurt.❀️

Coming back from my first (but not last) trip to the Amalfi Coast. It was a breath of fresh air and good reminder to slow down and take your time.

On our last night, we arrived famished at a beachside restaurant in Positano. When the owner asked that dreaded question, "Do you have a reservation?" We said "No, but we'll be quick." A common knee-jerk response when in the same situation back home. He looked at us and grinned, "Don't be quick. We'll be very upset if you are." And proceeded to give us a front row table facing the beach. "Ahhhhh," we sighed.

Just one of the many key takeaways from a week in Italy that I'm holding onto as I jump back into life here in America and the everydayness of it all. New blog coming out soon with a few more of these "Ahhhh, Italia" moments!

Sharing some Monday wisdom as we kick off a new week, the last one of April!

I recently taught a class through Needham Community Ed on the topic of Social Media for small businesses. In the class we talked about how to successfully create content. As a small business we often struggle for content (myself included.) We struggle to be creative, wanting to jump on new trends but concerned about staying authentic to the brand. We struggle to be consistent because we spin around in unproductive circles second guessing what we should be sharing. The struggle is real. It takes a focus and it takes work.

Here are the 5 rules I shared with the class on being a good content creator...

✍️ Requires a constant churn of fresh and creative content

✍️ Need to capture the attention of media, customers and online influencers

✍️ Engage by giving your audience new info and knowledge (informational vs. promotional)

✍️ It must be authentic and organically curated

✍️ Generate awareness that builds into long-term loyalty (be patient, it takes time!)

Just getting back here on IG and the rest of the social media world after a pretty long semi-hiatus. Really, giving it my 100% to start practicing what I preach over here. But the good news is that I've been working with some amazing new clients in 2022 so there's lots to talk about. I'll be sharing more of what they do and how I help them to tell their story in the coming weeks. And I'll be bring back my Monday afternoon IG Lives. (You're thrilled, I know.) And maybe I'll throw in a new website design in there. Why not? So much to share on many fronts and can't wait to bring some insight your way.

It's good to finally have an excuse. :) (Just one of the many perks of being an and small business owner.) ...
