🇬🇧 From Blue Deer Graphic Studio to Hi Deer 👋🦌

We are excited to announce that we united talents from England and Greece, with my talented partner, Ben Blant, an illustrator artist, and we have officially renamed the business to Hi Deer Studio in England, Ben's home country, to better serve our clients all over the world. We changed our name due to trademark regulations in the United Kingdom and also to reflect our adaptation to the times!

Δημιουργήσαμε και φέτος το ημερολόγιο του 2021 αφιερωμένο στην αρχαία Θουρία, όπως κάθε χρόνο. Το φετινό ημερολόγιο έχει ως θέμα του τις σφραγίδες και τα graffiti, που βρέθηκαν κατά καιρούς στο χώρο των ανασκαφών τόσο του Ασκληπιείου όσο και του θεάτρου της αρχαίας πόλης. Οι σφραγίδες βρίσκονται σε πολλά αρχαία αντικείμενα και κυρίως σε κεραμίδες ή σε λαβές αμφορέων ενώ τα graffiti, που χαράσσονται κυρίως στην επιφάνεια των αγγείων, είναι συνήθως αφιερώσεις των πιστών στις λατρευόμενες θεότητες.
~ Στην εικόνα βλέπετε μια από τις 12 φωτογραφίες του ημερολογίου, στον εσωτερικό πυθμένα ενός χαρακτηριστικού αγγείου ρωμαϊκών χρόνων (γνωστό ως "terra sigillata") διακρίνεται η εμπίεστη σφραγίδα ενός δεξιού ανθρώπινου πέλματος μέσα στο οποίο είναι γραμμένη η λέξη LAVIL, πιθανώς ενδεικτική της προέλευσης του αγγείου ή του εργαστηρίου κατασκευής του.

This year, as every year, we have made a calendar dedicated to ancient Thuria. The 2021 calendar has as its subject the stamps and graffiti, which were found from time to time in the excavations of both the Asclepieion and the theatre of the ancient city. The stamps are found on many ancient objects and mainly on tiles or on the handles of amphorae while the graffiti, which is engraved mainly on the surface of the vessels, are usually dedications of the faithful to the worshiped deities.
~ In the picture you can see one of the 12 photos from the calendar that comes from inside the base of a characteristic vessel from Roman times (known as "terra sigillata"). It is the printed stamp of a right human foot in which the word LAVIL is written, probably indicative of the origin of the vessel or its manufacturing workshop.
