Σχεδιασμός έκδοσης, σχεδιασμός εξωφύλλου και σελιδοποίηση

Στον σχεδιασμό βιβλίου, η δημιουργικότητα υπηρετεί την ανάγνωση.

Η οπτική ιεραρχία, τα μελετημένα περιθώρια και η καθαρή τυπογραφία οδηγούν τον αναγνώστη με ρυθμό και ηρεμία μέσα στο κείμενο.

Ο στόχος είναι ένας: ο σχεδιασμός να αναδεικνύει το περιεχόμενο, όχι να το επισκιάζει. Το βιβλίο «Λαμπαδογενής» σχεδιάστηκε με αυτή ακριβώς τη φιλοσοφία!

In book design, creativity serves reading.

The visual hierarchy, the studied margins and the clean typography lead the reader with rhythm and calmness through the text.

The goal is one: the design should highlight the content, not overshadow it. The book “Lampadogenes” was designed with this very philosophy!

It’s always great to collaborate with Θ.Ο.Μ., the Mykonos Amateur Theatre group – this time for the play Medeas Patouses (Medea’s Feet), written by Andreas Flourakis and directed by Domenikos-Demetrios Koukas.

Putting a new twist on a universally familiar myth, the play places Medea in modern times and tells her story through the lens of current problems and insights, thus creating a new, fascinating cultural event.

The poster reflects this fresh, poppy approach: giving a new twist to an old artifact, I added a touch of nail varnish on the toes of a foot depicted in an ancient relief. This strange and beautiful artifact is Mykonos-related too: it can be seen in the yard of the Mykonos Museum

The play will be performed on 5 and 6 June 2025 at the Events Hall of the Municipality of Mykonos in Matogianni.

Happy to announce a brand new project: the upcoming SynKinisis II Festival, for which I have designed the visual identity, including the poster, the program, and the main and individual banners.

Organized by the Anemomyloi Dance Society and curated by choreographer Maria Christara, SynKinisis II will take place this coming weekend, May 17 and 18. Centering on the folk windpipe instrument Tsampouna (or Sampouna, as it is also known in Mykonos) the Festival aims to be more than just a folklore get-together. Instead, it views tradition as something raw, alive, and grounded in the here and now – and its events, be they workshops or performances, reflect that.

The poster and banners also take this fresh approach: as with my previous collaboration with the Festival, a more pop, current concept was created especially for Synkinisis II, full of bold, lively colors and a “remixed”, vibrant image of a Tsampouna.

Many thanks to Maria and the whole Synkinisis and Anemomyloi teams – collaborating with such creative people always allows me to have fun and to evolve!

As summer is drawing closer and all sorts of events are being organized for the following months, I’m happy to announce the continuation of my collaboration with the Municipality of Mykonos, with the poster for tonight’s lovely event: “Unique in Their Lives and in Their Art”, a concert/poetry reading that is part of the “Poetic Spring” series curated by the Municipality for 2025.

Featuring songs and poems by such diverse and special talents as Sappho, Emily Dickinson, Kiki Dimoula, Katerina Angelakis-Rouk, Billie Holliday, the event celebrates love and beauty as expressed by these world-changing artists.

Many more things to come, so stay tuned – and I hope to see you there tonight!

More than any other month, May signifies spring, the beauty of Nature in full bloom.

For me it also brings back a very fond memory - the christening of my God-daughter, a few years ago. As an extra gift to her, I also designed the invitation to the whole event: an illustrated, colorful image of flowers in full springtime swing.

📚 World Book Day Today

Books have been my steadfast companions throughout life. As a child, they were my escape and adventure; now, they’re integral to my profession. When selecting a book, I look beyond the storyline. The cover design, the texture of the paper, and the readability all matter. These details reflect the dedication and love poured into its creation. If any element feels lacking, I often pass. On this World Book Day, I celebrate not just stories but the art of bookmaking itself.

With Easter closing in, here’s a throwback to an older project that I hold dear.

Religion and the divine are two key concepts in the lives of many Greeks, as shown in this event for which I did the exhibition design, along with the poster and accompanying booklet. The exhibition took place at the historic Bazeos Tower in the island of Naxos.

Tokens of worship are also a big part of religious life here. Usually gold-plated and depicting sanctified figures, they are requests for good health and overall welfare, in the form of offerings.

The striking color and shape of such artifacts could only be counterbalanced by a simple, minimal editorial design, which would allow for all other visual and textual information to truly shine.
