In Souroti, just outside Thessaloniki, Slab is based on a small estate where we cultivate a 45-tree organic olive grove as an integral part of our daily environment. On October 19, 2025, 500 kilos of olives were harvested and pressed the following day at a traditional olive mill in Galatista. The result was 75 liters of extra virgin olive oil with an acidity of just 0.45%, clean, balanced, and true to its origin.

The project was simply named “λάδι”, the Greek word for “oil.” The choice was intentional. In Greek, λάδι carries the weight of everyday life; it refers to something essential, humble, and deeply rooted in domestic culture. By keeping the name in its most common form, the project resists over-branding and artificial premium positioning. The design focuses on immediacy and on the relationship between place, maker, and product.

A hand-drawn illustration forms the core visual element: a hand emerging from the studio to harvest olives from the very same land. The minimal composition and earthy tones reinforce a sense of honesty and restraint, allowing the product to speak for itself. “λάδι” was not conceived as a commercial launch but as a gesture of sharing, a small sample of place, process, and philosophy, distributed to collaborators, friends, and clients.

"Summer has arrived, yet the surrounding atmosphere – in Greece but more so across the globe – remains heavy. From the ongoing genocide in Palestine to the fragile geopolitical balances worldwide, the signs of our times offer little room for optimism in the months – or even years – to come.

Still, there is hope. Hope in the brave voices rising to defend peace and justice, guided by love, creativity, and solidarity.

On a personal and professional level, this past season has been a full one. It began last September and brought with it meaningful collaborations, creative reflections, and an important distinction."

A project that began last year but unfortunately didn’t get released at the time was our work for the documentary Christspiracy. This year, however, it found its way into the spotlight, receiving distinction at the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards (ΕΒΓΕ).

Christspiracy, from Christ + conspiracy, is the latest thought-provoking film by Kip Andersen and Kameron Waters. It follows the highly successful series of documentaries they have produced in recent years on Netflix, including Cowspiracy, Seaspiracy, and What the Health. Through in-depth research and interviews, the creators ask: “How would Christ kill an animal?” Speaking with historians, religious practitioners, and clergy from the world’s major faiths, the filmmakers raise ethical questions about the killing of animals by humans and the relationship between religion and respect for life.

Reflecting these themes, the visual identity follows a bold and symbolic approach. We created a dynamic logotype in which the letter “T” alludes to the cross — the core symbol of Christianity — subtly cut in a way that hints at slaughter, the central theme of the film. The only accent color used is blood red, intensifying the emotional impact of the message.

Typographically, we chose a clean sans-serif font to communicate the documentary’s research-driven and historical tone, while also giving it a modern, direct aesthetic. To frame the compositions, we selected and edited paintings by Leonardo da Vinci — an artist known for his vegetarianism and compassion toward animals. His Renaissance depictions of nature and life lend a timeless quality to the film’s central question: how should we treat all living beings?

We are honored and delighted to share that one of our recent projects was recognized at the 2025 ΕΒΓΕ Awards — a prestigious institution in the field of creative design. At the award ceremony held this past Saturday at the Onassis Stegi in Athens, our work Christspiracy received a distinction in the category of Unpublished Work.

Christspiracy is the latest bold and thought-provoking film by Kip Andersen and Kameron Waters, continuing the groundbreaking documentary series that includes Cowspiracy, Seaspiracy, and What the Health. Through in-depth research and powerful interviews, the filmmakers pose a provocative question: “How would Christ kill an animal?”

Collaborating with such prominent figures in the world of documentary filmmaking was a unique and inspiring experience. Although another proposal was ultimately chosen for the final production, our creative vision found its own moment of recognition through this EBGE award — and for that, we are truly proud.

Repairzone is the new venture of electronics technician Pavlos Efthymiadis. Equipped with his extensive experience in the field from various positions, with Repairzone he undertakes the repair of a wide range of products such as mobile phones, computers, and printers.

The symbol that was designed refers to the two initials of the company's compound name, R and Z, combining the shapes of the letters into a unified form. At the same time, thanks to its sturdiness, the logo conveys a sense of trust and stability — concepts that are important when dealing with typically sensitive devices, which may also contain sensitive data. Additionally, from the right side of the symbol, a more dynamic feel emerges, reminiscent of a lightning bolt — a symbol associated with electricity. Finally, the closed shape that is created conceptually references the second part of the company's name ("zone"), meaning a closed, defined space.

Aephora is the new building sustainability consultancy founded by architect Angeliki Antoniou. Based in Northern Greece, the firm primarily collaborates with construction companies, offering reliable expertise in environmentally responsible and technically sound projects.

Angeliki Antoniou is a specialist in the prestigious LEED sustainability certification, with extensive experience in site supervision and the selection of sustainable building materials.

The logo design draws inspiration from elements of the Greek natural landscape, translated into abstract forms that interact with one another. A sun and an olive leaf—symbols deeply rooted in the Mediterranean context—merge to form a lowercase "a", representing both the company's name and its founder.

At the same time, the composition offers a second layer of meaning: the shapes of the sun and the leaf also resemble the digits 0 and 1, referencing Angeliki's technological fluency and the way she integrates digital tools into her work.

The chosen typography features curves and humanist serifs, emphasizing the natural and people-centered approach that defines the firm’s architectural philosophy.

In terms of color, we selected a calm, earthy green, reflecting the values of sustainability and harmony with the environment.

We’re thrilled to share that our studio has been nominated for the prestigious ΕΒΓΕ Awards! 🏆 The ceremony will take place this May at the Onassis Stegi in Athens.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to sharing the full case study of Christspiracy — a project we devoted significant care and creativity to, though it was ultimately never released. We are excited to finally present this work to you.

Anemi is one of the leading toy stores in Greece, offering children and parents a variety of high-quality products that meet strict educational and safety standards—all while bringing joy and entertainment! The company approached us to create a refreshed visual identity that embraces the future with optimism.

Anemi has been around since the 1990s, so our goal was to design an identity that honors its heritage while feeling modern and versatile. The logotype was carefully redesigned to maintain brand recognition while refining its details. Additionally, we illustrated classic characters and toys inspired by Anemi’s offerings, creating playful and dynamic combinations across various applications.

For the color palette, we selected bold, vibrant hues that align with the learning process of young children. To complement the overall aesthetic, we chose a friendly, rounded geometric typeface. This design principle was carried through to print materials, where rounded corners were used wherever possible to enhance the approachable, child-friendly feel.

Nikos Giuris was this time the guest at the Branding for Grεεks podcast by George Karayiannis which started its 3rd season. Together they discussed (in Greek) brands, their ethical implications and how they shape habits and consequently social and political consciousness. But what is the designers’ share of responsibility in the above? Is there room in today’s working conditions for ethical design choices?

"Summer has arrived and brings with it, beyond the heat and probably beautiful moments, many concerns, domestically and internationally. With the hope that the crime committed in Palestine will stop, and with the hope that a large part of our country will not burn again, most of us plan our getaways or vacations. It is important, and for mental health reasons, that we manage to de-stress and enjoy this season. As much as we can."
