Some might say that’s rather presumptuous for Gilbert Carrington to think of himself is such a high esteemed way. Well, if I don’t, then who else will.
I see myself as “A Renaissance Man” like my dad before me, The Winslow G. Carrington, CCH, that brought Hope and Change for many thousands of Guyanese.
What really caused and brought me to this thinking and the layout in the following piece is my attendance the Second Annual Forum on Guyana’s Oil and Gas Local Content Law and possible amendments to the Law.
At the Forum after the speeches by The Minister of Natural Resources Honorable Vickram Bharrat, MP and other distinguished Business Leaders, we were broken out into maybe 12 Tables of kinda a focus group. What I found in the group was that I was being “slated by the moderator of the group who in body language almost expressed a disdain for my asking of questions and making suggestions.
After getting home at around 2:30pm, I sent almost 4 hours searching for my Certificate (attached)in Oil and Gas Operations and Markets from Duke University to depth and validation to my questioning and suggestions. I’m part of a very small fraction of Guyanese who have been schooled with the foundational knowledge of this very significant industry that has been bestowed on our Beautiful Nation of Guyana. I do believe that I have so much to offer to Guyana and The World if given the Smallest of Opportunities:
