I've recently been working with Straits Kitchen in Yuen Long to create content for them, working to help get all they are about out there for people to see. The dedication from them is unbelievable. If something does belong on the dish, it does not go on. This dessert may look simple, but capturing all that beauty was really fulfilling!

Capturing the simplicity of this composition. The crumbs, almonds, and mint encasing the dessert to really captivate the viewer and really focus on the subject. The shadow highlighting, yes highlighting, the depth the subject, and adding a three dimensional effect to an other two dimensional image.

This was another delicious dessert to shoot, mango, that creamy panna cotta type of base, with the mango puree spiked with 2005 sauternes, mint, dried coconut, on a biscuit base. It was very balanced, and did not make it feel heavy at all! Definitely worth a trip for you mango lovers out there.

Taking this shoot was fun, capturing the chefs dishes in all its glory. I also got to enjoy it at the end too, so that was a bonus! I understood why the dessert was put this way, and it was a pleasure to enjoy leisurely after the shoot. Bonuses of being a food photographer!

Getting the shot to build up the story as effectively as possible is difficult with all the content around nowadays. Being able to help clients emphasis the messages they want to get across helps. Also having some lights and a nice camera is a big help too! The tools however are only as good as the user!
