Scaling “We Are All Newbies of Life” Beyond the Pilot | Global Launchpad 2026
“If you want to go far, go together.”
Last Friday marked the end of a very meaningful 6-week journey for the SONOVA team. We’re grateful to have completed Global Launchpad 2026, and deeply humbled that our project “We Are All Newbies of Life (我們都在練習人生)” received the “Greatest Potential for Social Impact Award”, as voted by the audience.
This journey gave us the chance to reflect, reboot, and reimagine how our music-based SEL work can grow beyond the pilot stage, while staying true to the depth of youth engagement that matters most to us.
At Demo Day, we shared the story of Ah Ho, a Form 2 student still carrying the social aftershock of COVID, and how our DJ Workshop Series and Cantopop-based activities offer students like him a low-barrier way to express themselves, reconnect with peers, and feel seen at school.
Since 2024, we have reached 19 schools and over 10,000 students.
As we prepare for the next school year, we are now looking for partners to help bring this work to more students and schools.
• Donors and corporate funders — to support campus-based delivery in the 2026–27 school year
• Schools, educators, and youth-sector partners — to connect us with like-minded secondary schools
• Community and collaboration partners — to explore how music can support youth wellbeing and social-emotional learning
Our heartfelt thanks to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation, the Global Launchpad team, the professors and coaches from Chicago Booth, and our inspiring fellow cohort members for walking this journey with us.
