He is currently the owner and managing director of Lynge Blak Investor Relations Ltd., a highly specialised strategic investor relations consultancy, based in Hong Kong. Blak most recently completed a series of investor relations coaching projects for senior managers and acted as IR-advisor to the international public relations consultancy, iPR Ogilvy Ltd. in Hong Kong. In addition, he is vistin
g lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as head of the HKIRA IR Diploma Course. Lynge is also External Consultant to DC Gardner Training on Investo Relations and related subjects. Blak started his career in 1968, when he joined Danske Bank in Copenhagen. Initially he worked in and became deputy manager of the international securities department. Following this he moved to Luxembourg to head up the private banking and securities trading unit there. His next move was to London, where he led the international securities department and also became the bank’s assistant general manager. In 1995, he joined ISS A/S, the world’s leading provider of facility services, as director of investor relations. Here, Mr. Blak managed the company’s international listings in New York, London and Copenhagen. He also played a crucial role in managing the company through a severe financial crisis. In addition, he was reponsible for the development of ISS’s corporate goverance, sustainability and corporate social responsibility programs (CSR). Six years later, in 2001, Mr. Blak was appointed vice president investor relations at the Danish venture capital firm of 2M Invest in 2001. During the IT-bubble it was turbolent times for the company’s global investments, which lead into the company’s liqudation in 2002. In this process Mr. Blak’s knowledge in handling IR Crises Management came into full capacity. Since 2005, Mr. Blak has served as chairman and UK registered director of iR Global League, a global web-based mutual information exchange databases for investor relations professionals. From 2003-9 he was chairman and CEO of IIRF, the International Investor Relations Federation, the umbrella organization for the world’s national investor relations societies – representing more than 10,000 IR Officers, 1,300 vendors and consultancies and 80% of the world’s market capitalisation. Over the past 40 years, Mr. Blak has written extensively about investor relations issues which include: “Chinese Trends in IR” for publication with the ABSS, China, and more than 60 IR-related subjects for distribution with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and not at least: “Strategic IR Management –The Art of Communication Value” – for distribution with the weekly IR Round Table held at the IR-data distributor irasia.com, Hong Kong. Blak is in addition a comprehensive user and commentator in the various new social media platforms like with his blok HongKong IR on Twitter. As a lecturer, he runs introduction and specialist training courses in the use of investor relations for investor relations students and professionals, as well as innovative start-up companies and incubators who want to increase visibility and awareness of the company for their global expension.
