The term isn’t new, in fact, coming with the strong community-based social commerce in China, the Chinese consumers are very familiar with the concept of “Group Buy”.

However, Tuan Zhang, specifically means that individual who leads others, negotiates the deals on behalf of the other groupbuy members with the suppliers, and even involves in the operation and logistics,

Becomes a big ROLE during Shanghai’s lockdown since April.

At the beginning stage of Shanghai’s lockdown, the city system, especially food and medicine supply chain isn’t ready for the sudden situation. Many older generation, who may have more urgent needs for specific food and medicine, are not able to compete with the young Internet-savvy to order everything online.

Tuan Zhang, normally is a volunteer individual in a neighborhood, who realizes this problem. He/She starts to coordinate with other smaller Tuan Zhang, to consolidate small orders for themselves and for others.

Glad to attend the China Wine Masterclass at Slow Wine in Bologna.

As a Chinese, alcoholic beverage is part of our long history, however, (grape) wine is not familiar to the modern Chinese. I still remember when I was a little girl, the “wine” my parents bought is sweet and watering like just a grape juice. However, it is glad to see the change in drinking culture and winemaking industry in China in the recent 5/10 years. The change is in the domestic regulations, in a new generation of winemakers, and in the development of real wineries and vineyards, even in the growth of attention on the local grapes.

Chinese trendy word explained again! Today, we talk about “wei-xun”, which means tipsy.

Tipsy culture, or night-life culture is not unfamiliar to many western brands, as bars and bistros, or drinking culture is originally from the West. In Japan, grabbing a drink after leaving the office is almost “mandatory” for the young professionals in big cities.
