Founded in 2015, MarblePrintClay (MPC) is artist-run printmaking studio. Our focus is on hand printed that are printed by our skilled printers in collaboration with artists and publisher based in Hong Kong. With traditional printmaking equipment, there is a studio for renting, a wide range of courses, access to specialist technicians and large format printing. MarblePrintClay works with artists, c

ommunity organizations, galleries, educational institutions and the public. Creative collaboration is at the heart of the studio's practice. MarblePrintClay provides printmaking facilities and professional support for artists and designers. Facilities include etching, screen-printing and relief printing. Printing is an art that tests one’s willpower and action. Each work is a challenge, often involving long timelines in production.

✨ Exciting News – Photopolymer Etching is Back! ✨ The popular Photopolymer Etching course is returning in May!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be introduced to the basics of Photoshop, learn how to create and print digital positives, and master the perfect exposure of photopolymer plates using UV light. This technique lets you produce beautiful intaglio plates with great depth and a wide tonal range from your original images or photos — all without any acid or harsh chemicals!
Led by the fabulous printmaking artist Cheung Tsz-Ki, this one-day class is perfect for complete beginners.

This course is for beginners with AND without experience in screen printing, intermediate joiners are also welcoming who want to refresh their skills. The aim for this course is to get you proficient to experiment and start making screen printing works at our open studio days and beyond. You will come out of this course knowing how to prepare, print, and work in our open studio sessions. 
Details:
* 2 sessions, 3 hrs each.
* Complete a 3 layer print (design is pre-set by the instructor) and learn how to prepare your design, clean and maintain the frame. Learn the skills for doing screen print so you can start making your own work.
* Suitable for adults and children 16+.
* Sessions cannot be replaced for another date.
* Class can be taught in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
* Small class.

Practice your lino skills, and print a puzzle piece lino! This class is suitable for intermediate experience, adults and children 16+. You will need to know how to already carve and print lino, we will be moving quicker than our beginner course (if you’ve trained with us before!). Learn how to plan and cut out your puzzle pieces with your lino to achieve a striking print. We will also teach you how to print ombre colours.

Date: November 16, 2025

This course is for beginners with AND without experience in screen printing, intermediate joiners are also welcoming who want to refresh their skills. Days:
Session 1 DESIGNING and PREP, 3hr Nov 1, 2025 11am - 2pm (no lunch) - Learn the different screen print equipment and how to coat your 3 frames. Learn about different techniques and complete designing your screen print using different techniques like paper cut out, drawing, and digital preparations.

Learn how to operate the exposure unit machine. Practice how to wash and dry your 3 screen print frames for printing. Learn how to mix and prepare screen printing ink. Cut out your paper for printing.

Session 2 PRINTING AND CLEANING, 3hr Nov 8, 2025 11am-2pm (no lunch) - Printing your 3 layers. Practice how to power wash off the emulsion from the frame. Learn about the common mistakes and how to fix them.

🔖Course Overview
This course is provide comprehensive introduction for beginners interested in exploring intaglio printing techniques, focusing on line etching and aquatint. Participants will learn hands-on methods to create striking images using copperplates and various etching techniques and a set structure with practical exercises to help you learn and understand the process. Basic methods of intaglio printmaking will be demonstrated and discussed before participants begin working on their own designs.
This course covers : theory and process of intaglio printing, preparation of copperplate, application of hard ground, image preparation, preparing the paper, hard ground etching, aquatint etching, mixing ink, printing the image.
Upon completion of the course participants will have completed an edition of 5 A5 prints on fine art acid free paper to take home.

Artist Profile 🧑‍🎨
Sally Tsang graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the 1980s with a degree in Fine Arts. She then completed her master’s degree at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, specializing in printmaking and drawing. Before moving back to Hong Kong, she worked for many years as a freelance artist in Germany, traveling back and forth between Europe and Hong Kong. She then served as a senior lecturer in the Creative Arts Department at the Metropolitan University of Hong Kong for over a decade until her retirement. Along with drawing and painting, printmaking remains one of her primary artistic mediums. Over the years, Sally has participated in many arts exhibitions and cultural activities. She enjoys sharing her artistic knowledge and passion with others and is particularly committed to promoting printmaking in Hong Kong.

本課程為有興趣探索蝕刻印刷技術的初學者提供全面的介紹,專注於線蝕刻和細點蝕刻。參加者將學習使用銅版和各種蝕刻技術創造引人注目的圖像,並通過結構化的實踐練習來幫助您學習和理解過程。在參加者開始自己設計之前,將示範和討論蝕刻版畫的基本方法。

本課程涵蓋:蝕刻印刷的理論與過程、銅版的準備、硬防腐應用、圖像準備、紙張準備、硬防腐蝕刻、細點蝕刻、油墨、印刷圖像。
課程結束後,參加者將完成5份A5尺寸的藝術級無酸紙版畫帶回家。
