We brought home the gold! 🏆
Remember our last post? That’s when we proudly shared that we were represented five times (or, more precisely, five and a half times) on the shortlists of the GOLDEN DRAWING PIN Awards and Exhibition. Today, we’re thrilled to say that one of those nominations has turned into an actual award.

This year’s Emerging Graphic Designer of the Year award went to our colleague Fanni Szakonyi! 👏
Fanni impressed the jury with her brand identity work for Globus Language School, as well as with her bold, character-driven packaging designs created primarily for international markets.

For us, this recognition is more than “just” a trophy on the shelf. Nurturing talent is at the core of what we do — and not only within the walls of our agency. Since day one, several members of our team have been teaching at higher education institutions, helping shape the next generation of designers. That’s why it means so much to see young talents growing with us receive such meaningful professional recognition.
We first discovered Fanni’s talent while she was a student at Krea Design School, and she joined our team already during her student years.

We’re incredibly proud of you, Fanni, and grateful to everyone else who stood strong on this year’s shortlists — once again confirming that we’re heading in the right direction.

⁉ According to the shortlists published by the organizers of the 23rd GOLDEN DRAWING PIN Awards and Exhibition, we are represented no fewer than five and a half times this year.

👍First, as a creative studio, Brand Bar has been shortlisted in the Studio of the Year category. While we don’t usually define ourselves strictly as a graphic design studio — much like last year’s winner — we’re proud to be included among the nominees.

✌Our presence on the Emerging Graphic Designer of the Year shortlist is particularly meaningful to us, as supporting young talents at the very beginning of their careers has always been close to our hearts. Our “two-and-a-half-fold” representation here comes from the fact that, alongside our colleagues Fanni Szakonyi and Ambrus LaĂĄr, freelance designer Vera KovĂĄcs has also been shortlisted. One of the nominated projects is a brand identity we developed together, which has already received two international awards. It’s also worth noting that Ambrus and Fanni recently brought home an international trophy themselves — for a project they worked on jointly.

👏Thanks to her packaging designs, our colleague Orsolya IllĂ©s has once again been shortlisted for the Award for Outstanding Graphic Design Practice of Recent Years, marking yet another recognition of her work.

đŸ–ïžFinally, in the Independent Graphic Design category, our Creative Director Attila Simon has been shortlisted for a personal initiative — the NapszĂĄmos Project.

At the Brand Building Conference in May, our creative director, Attila Simon, took on the role of waking up the post-lunch, drowsy audience with a touch of humor and a fair amount of profanity. He presented brand logos and names that, while positive in their original context, generate obscene or comical associations in Hungarian due to phonetic similarities. From the perspective of global brand communication, it is particularly instructive that a logo which is harmless and attention-grabbing in one country can provoke scandal, ridicule, or deliberate rejection in another.
The examples presented also highlighted that without a careful examination of linguistic connotations, global branding can easily drift into comical or even embarrassing situations. The presentation thus offered both professional insights and an experience infused with humor.

With the pandemic over, the demand for disposable gloves has decreased. EU-Fire Kft. – one of Europe’s largest glove manufacturers – decided to enter a new market segment while continuing to serve the public healthcare sector. Our team was responsible for designing the branding and packaging of this new product line.

For the small package (20 gloves/box), it was important to create a design that was convenient and easy to store, whether in a pocket or a car – almost resembling the format of a "chocolate bar."

Moving away from the world of medical devices, the design reflects the visual style expected in drugstores.

The positive tone of the main visual element was established not only through a smiling face but also by presenting the product with the "OK" hand gesture.

The front of the packaging highlights the product’s key benefits, such as “hypoallergenic” and “powder-free.” Additionally, the “heat-conducting smart glove” feature was visually reinforced with an icon.

Different sizes are marked with distinct color codes, which are reflected not only in the supporting colors but also in the color variations of the main visual element.

As a convenience feature, the packaging includes a true-to-scale indicator to help customers choose the right glove size.

The A' Design Award Gala-Night, which is regarded as one of the most prominent and most exclusive social events in the design world, took place this week in Teatro Sociale Como. This year, our team won a bronze award in the competition, where our design was chosen as one of the best by the 225 jury members from thousands of innovative works entered. The dynamic identity created for Genecontact has previously earned Graphis and WOLDA awards as well.

With this piece of art, we wish to recall the memory of our colleague TamĂĄs Veress, who has passed away three years now.
With age, his work became more and more expressive, as a brilliant continuity of the finest traditions of Hungarian drawing art. Most of the time, he created illustrations for his own poems. Perhaps, this explains the profound drama in these works.
As he sayed: „ For the most part of my life, I expressed myself by the tools of typography and fine art. Then I realized that in critical moments, only poetry remained, by which I was capable of conveying thoughts that cannot be drawn or painted."

đŸ“ș The Media Centre of KecskemĂ©t is an institution consisting of five media channels. It was a guiding principle when redesigning their brand identity, that the new visual world should be related to KecskemĂ©t, yet be modern and contemporary, while it should also connect the various business lines by a unified appearance, whilst leaving room for their individual characteristics to express. The logo was inspired by one of the windows of the old, art nouveau casino building of KecskemĂ©t. The dynamic logo system was created using the hexagonal shapes of this window, which were then quadrupled and arranged into various forms.
The dynamic continuity was achieved by rotating the hexagonal elements that form the basic unit of the system by 90°, resulting in 12 logo variations. The varied use of the same visual element reflects the unity of media channels, and that they all belong to the Media Centre of Kecskemét as an umbrella brand.

It's an honor for us to have Can you see the music? - music-driven dynamic brand identity designed for Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra chosen as a winner in the 365: AIGA Year in Design competition!
This competition recognizes excellence and represents innovation across all categories of communication design, from print to web to service to spaces—both physical and virtual.
Read what juror, Nakita Pope of has said about our work: “This brand identity takes a technical concept and applies it in such a way that you still see the organic nature of the music. It is an excellent example of what happens when designers collaborate with other disciplines.”
