Sometimes in my work, I simply have to trust my instincts.
This story started long before the sold-out show in Budapest.
One day, one of Ollie’s songs came up on my Spotify playlist and I remember being genuinely surprised. Not only because I loved the song, but because I couldn’t quite connect the dots at first.
Wait... is this the same Ollie Higginson I’ve been watching on TV?
It was.
And the more I listened, the more I realized there was something special there.
A few weeks later, a casual Instagram message turned into a quick online call. Nothing fancy. No grand plans. Just a conversation between people who believed in the same thing: quality.
Fast forward to June 5th, and we found ourselves standing in front of a sold-out room at Coco Bar in Wonder Budapest.
What happened that evening reminded me why acoustic music still matters.
Not because it’s louder.
Not because it’s bigger.
But because it connects.
It gives space to the songs.
Space to the musicians.
And space to the audience.
In a world full of noise, this was an evening that invited people to listen.To feel.To be present.
Watching Ollie and Will perform was a masterclass in musicianship, storytelling, and authenticity. And beyond the stage, I was lucky enough to meet wonderful people — , , , and the whole team behind the project.
One of the greatest gifts of my profession is that sometimes work brings extraordinary people into your life.
Thank you, Ollie and your management, for trusting us and believing that Wonder Budapest and the newly opened Coco Bar were the right home for your first Budapest show.
What started as a Spotify song, an Instagram message, and a leap of faith became one of the most beautiful projects I’ve worked on this year.
And somehow, I feel this is only the beginning.
