Remembering Freddie Mercury (5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991)

Did you know that Queen frontman Freddie Mercury’s range didn’t just cover several octaves, but he had some serious graphic design talent as well?!

Mercury created the band’s iconic logo, the “Queen crest" in 1973, filled with elaborate symbolism and different layers of hidden meaning: the centerpiece is the letter Q with a crown inside of it, surrounded by elements symbolizing the personal identities of its members, incorporating the zodiac signs of bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor (two lions for two Leos), guitarist Brian May (a crab for Cancer), and Mercury himself (two fairies for Virgo).

Mercury’s creativity across art forms highlights not just the power of a truly creative mindset but also how strong logo design – even one as flashy as Queen’s – can lead a brand around the world and across decades.

It wasn't the aliens....👽🛸
We hereby admit that the surprising appearance and subsequent disappearance of a monolith in the middle of the Utah desert earlier this month, and its recent discovery in Romania is part of a Goldfish Grafx campaign for the promotion of our latest project: branding of Monolith Consulting. 😜

Now that's the way to get everyone's attention and start off with a bang!
