As a person who normally struggles to accept criticism/ feedback, this article has provided a piece of advice that I need to hear as a growing graphic designer. Highly suggest anyone read this!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the inactivity, I've been busy lately that I didn't have the time to do more drawings for this project so this post/ illustration is the last one for the Olympics collection! There was supposed to be a series with 9 posts but I'll have to end it here FOR NOW. If I had more time, I'll post the remaining 3 post on my Behance (check that out btw! LINK IN BIO).
Thank you for your patience and understanding ❤🌺

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well!

As a part of our project, our course unofficially collaborated with Not just a shop to create a ready-to-sell/ ready-to-wear product for the store.

I created a fridge magnet that promotes associating food in a positive light and Indonesia's staple produce, called Tempeh. I was inspired by (but also not associated with) the Tempeh Movement, which was a non-profit movement that hopes to recognize tempeh as a UNESCO Intangible Heritage Resource and provide a cheaper and more sustainable alternative to beef. As far as I could remember, I am obsessed with soy-related products, whether it is soymilk, soy sauce, miso, tofu and tempeh and it is commonly used in most East Asian/ South-East Asian cuisines. My love for tempeh and my constant craving to eat them inspired me to create a product that helps promote my culture and the food that I love.

At the beginning of my second year, I did a project called "The Third Place" which was a term created by an American sociologist, Ray Oldenburg, as a welcoming place where people can freely exchange ideas and conversational topics. In response to my growing love for cafes and caffeine dependency, I created a reportage illustration zine that illustrates the common cafe setting and the conversations I heard during my visit to some cafes in London.

I really loved watching high jump! I used to do high jump so I watched Derek Drouin's jumping techniques and try to practice it on my bed. I'm sad he missed the Olympics Trial due to injury but I'll for sure support my favourite high jumpers there!

Jen.ju is a mobile application that provides a daily solution to your food confusion. Whether you are looking to expand your palette or want to learn about bubble tea, the app doesn't just educate about the making of bubble tea but also the significance bubble tea has on the Asian community.
-
The name Jen.ju is derived for the Taiwanese term "zhen zu" which is often used to describe pearl milk tea. Jen.ju is a comedic or satirical approach to the constant mispronounciation of the term whilst they are able to flawlessly pronounce and spell Bill Skärsgard or Timothee Chamalet. It is often found frustrating amongst Asian diasporas, like myself, who have their names constantly misspelled or mispronounced.

Auston Matthews for GQMagazineOfficial
I loved every detail of the photoshoot. From the outfits to the colours and the poses. It was by far easier to create 1939202 ideas based on this than any other photographs. It also helps as I’m a hockey fan who is an art student.
