Andar offers two touring programs. Pick up from your hotel 10klms is included to experience a wonderful authentic day.
Tuesday and Saturday
Pick up and visit local traditional market. Andar will show you around. ?buy the vegetables and ingredients for your lunch. Enjoy an Es campus before you go home. A mixture between a drink and a desert.
Drive 15 minutes to Andars villag Bangko Palut.
Please note this is a 100% authentic Sasak village. No modifications have been made to accommodate tourists. Please dress respectively nothing above the knees and short sleeves a fine. No tank tops please or short shorts.
Meet Andars family and after a walk around enjoy a traditional lunch of Gado Gado which you will help to prepare. Tea coffee and water are provided.
You get to experience village life. Draw water from the well the only water source. Help wash dishes the traditional way. Help wash clothes the traditional way. Have a rest on a sleeping mat. The villagers do not use beds. Just soak up the incredible atmosphere of the children playing and villagers going about their daily life. You are able to ask Andar about village
Life, his religion anything within reason. Please note there is a toilet but it is a tradition squat toilet.
Walk across the road to see how salt is made. You will appreciate every grain from now on.
At 3.30 the village children gather for English class. Join in or just watch their enthusiasm. Andar set up the English program to help the children in their later lives as their opportunities are limited in the area. Class finished at 5pm and time for a coffee or Tea and some local traditional sweet treats. Then it's back to the hotel. The cost for the day $40aud or 400,000 idr per person all inclusive. If you live further than 10klms from Bangko Palut, here may be an additional transport charge.
Tours are a max of 1-4 people only. Children under 10 are free and over 10 years of age half price. Please call Andar direct for a reservation and it is appreciated if you have the right money as there is no facility for change or is there a credit card facility.
On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday the morning programs is replaced with a boat and snorkelling trip to Gili Sudak and Gili Kedis. No equipment is provided please bring your own or snorkel without.
The afternoon program remains as outlined above.
