[REBRANDING WORK - 360]
Challenge(s):
Taberu is one of the pioneer of all you can eat shabu-shabu in Samarinda. In its 7th year, it decided to do a rebranding & reconcept. When the first discussion is on the table, the direction was “anime cafe.” When we are talking about anime itself, it has wide spectrums and we cannot “please” all the anime-enthusiasts.
Bring the BINGO! Moment:
We decided to direct the brand to Japanese pop-culture instead. It has wider audience and bigger playground to explore. We faced a challenge to create a brand image that has strong Japanese image, but doesn’t lead to a specific “anime culture.”
We chose to refine the logo not far from the original logo. All design aspects for the interior is a mixed of our original mascot and combination of famous pop-culture. We designed the uniform with the -of course- kimono with the logo and Kiki on the back.
We had a “short-tour” for the grand opening. The guests were invited to experience and be explained of each area. We had art-jamming for community and food-tasting session and invited the owner to officially open the restaurant by doing live teppan attraction.
