On your 81st, Indonesia. May your wings find the wind again 🕊️
Nothing Flies Alone.
Every fold carries a prayer.
A thousand folded doves begin as ordinary sheets of paper. Through a sequence of folds, they become something else entirely. Delicate on their own, together they become a believe that hope is never carried alone.
Created for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, we explored our typeface “Studio Woork Sans” through paper. Every dove was folded by hand using the traditional art of origami. 1000 doves, shaped through 81 prayers for our country. What begins as an individual gesture gradually becomes something shared.
Some things are too small to be noticed on their own. Together, they become impossible to overlook.
The work continues as a book, photography, an installation of one thousand doves, and a ballet performance. These works trace the same idea across different forms. Every movement reaches toward the same longing: to fly freely, to dream freely, and to imagine a better tomorrow.
There are moments when the future feels out of reach. Even then, prayer remains. So does belief and the quiet act of continuing.
