Unlike water, air, or earth—elements that exist in nature as they are—fire does not appear on its own. Fire must be made.

With that spirit, we sparked our own fire in the Year of the Horse.

DERAP BARA carries our energy through the form of Kuda Lumping—an acculturation that embodies flame, a spirit we hope will endure long even after the moment of celebration passes. It is a reminder that spirit is not something we simply inherit, but something we create and keep alive.

Presented as a artbook in the form of a bag, it becomes something that can be carried wherever we go. And in carrying it, we hope the fire we hold may spark a fire within you as well.

As long as the sun rises,
keep burning—keep beating.

Among 30,000 submissions from 85 countries this year, just one entry from Indonesia was selected—and we’re honored it was ours.

Today, Studio Woork brings home a Wood Pencil from the D&AD Awards in London.

To say it’s surreal is an understatement. Winning at D&AD—one of the world’s most respected creative accolades—feels like a dream (we’re still pinching ourselves).
The D&AD Awards is considered by many to be the world’s most prestigious benchmark for commercial creativity. Since 1962, D&AD has honored the very best in design and advertising, spotlighting work that redefines craft and creativity on a global scale. To now be part of that is beyond humbling for us.

This isn’t just a win for our studio. It’s a quiet reminder that even from a small corner of the world, with heart, grit, and a clear vision—you can make it.

Art direction and packaging design for Tea Heaven.

Inspired by nature and handicrafts from Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia, we use eco-friendly material bamboo as packaging. We want to support new enterprise creation and the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and how it can be enhanced through creative local economic, all the bamboo packaging was crafted by an Indonesian local crafter from Sukabumi, West Java.

Tea Heaven expresses conjointly with ethics and point of view about humans and nature. Nurtured by the misty clouds in the high-altitude mountain in the West Java area, plucked by the women early just right at sunrise, this tea is crafted as natural as possible and without any additional preservative. Through the dedication and quality of the process, their tea will invite comfort you.

From the mist of mountain to a cup of serenity.

"It's not too late to say sorry" ketupat is our second series from our last year Eid hampers "It's not just hampers"

Every Eid day, there is almost always ketupat. It is a staple food made from rice, wrapped by coconut leaves. Ketupat or kupat also can be found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, and Philippines. It is not also served only in Eid day. In Bali, ketupat is also used as ceremony presents.

The word "ketupat" or "kupat" derives from Javanese word "ngaku lepat", which means "admit a mistake". We hope ketupat tradition can make us admit our mistakes so we can apologize each other.

The shape of ketupat is rhombus. In Javanese culture it means four human desires: amarah (anger), aluamah (hunger), supiah (desire to possess something good), and mutmainah (desire to force ourselves).

Peace be upon us 🙏

Exhibition catalogue design for Indonesian Contemporary Art and Design (ICAD) XI: PUBLIK.

ICAD XI sheds light on the theme “PUBLIK” as an indispensable element to art, sparking attention and discussion on how the connection between a work of art and its public can be interrelated. Believing in the importance of the public as a viewer, user, consumer, and trend-setter, ICAD XI encourages participating artists and designers to respond to the current times through speculative ideas of what might be relevant to the public post-pandemic. As creators, what possible futures can we imagine? What changes can we foresee taking place in our everyday lives and how can art and design respond to it?
