It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Tommy Prior 💔
For more than 10 years, Tommy was at the heart of Krafty Kidz. For many of our children and families, he was a familiar face behind the wheel of the Krafty Kidz car. Whether he was driving, fixing, maintaining, gardening, or lending a helping hand wherever it was needed, Tommy was someone we could always rely on. No job was ever too much trouble, and no problem ever seemed too big when Tommy was around.
Tommy played a part in each of our five services and there wasn't a corner of Krafty Kidz that he hadn't helped paint, fix, maintain or improve over the years. His hard work, dedication and willingness to help shaped so much of what Krafty Kidz is today.
Despite being past retirement age, Tommy had no notion of slowing down. He loved being part of Krafty Kidz and continued to give his time, energy and support whenever he could, until his health deteriorated in recent months.
What we will remember most, however, is not the work Tommy did, but the person he was. Tommy was a huge character, known and loved by everyone at Krafty Kidz. He had a wonderful sense of humour, a quick wit, and a smile that could brighten anyone's day. He was always ready with a story, a laugh, or a few words of encouragement, and his presence brought warmth and happiness wherever he went.
Tommy had a special bond with the children. His face would light up whenever he was around them, and they were naturally drawn to his kind and gentle nature. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than seeing his own grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they came through our doors. The pride, love and joy he had for them was clear for all to see.
For many of us, Tommy was more than a colleague. He was a friend, a trusted source of advice, and the person at the end of the phone whenever help was needed. No matter the problem, Tommy would do his very best to help. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched so many lives, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He leaves behind countless memories, stories, and smiles that we will cherish forever. The impact he had on our children, families, and staff will not be forgotten, and the legacy of kindness, friendship, and dedication he leaves behind will remain with us for years to come.
Our heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences go to his wife, Geraldine; his children, Caroline, Keith and Joe; his in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family circle.
Rest in peace, Tommy.
Thank you for your friendship, your laughter, your kindness, and for being such a special part of the Krafty Kidz family. You will never be forgotten 💕
