Let’s Help Patryk Get Back to the Life He Loves ❤️
Patryk is 26 years old. Just a few weeks ago, he was living his normal life. He was working, staying active, cycling, running, playing the guitar. He had plans, dreams, and a future he wanted to build together with his fiancée.
On August 22, everything changed in a matter of seconds.
Doctors suspect that the bleeding was caused by a rare, congenital abnormality of the blood vessels in Patryk’s brain. It may have been there his entire life without ever causing any symptoms. We had no reason to believe that anything like this existed.
That day, it suddenly ruptured.
Patryk suffered severe bleeding in the brain, swelling, and damage to the brainstem and cerebellum. He needed emergency neurosurgery, which lasted six hours.
At first, doctors gave him only a minimal chance of survival. In the days that followed, we were repeatedly told that Patryk might never wake up.
Every day, we stayed by his bedside, waiting for even the smallest sign that he could hear us.
To the doctors’ surprise, after a week Patryk began to come back to us.
First, he opened his eyes. Then he began responding to voices and simple commands — squeezing a hand and making purposeful movements.
Today, he recognizes his loved ones, responds to what we say, and is trying very hard to communicate with us.
He is now breathing on his own.
Every one of these moments gives us hope.
Patryk still needs time before he is ready for intensive rehabilitation. But we know that this stage is coming soon, and that he faces a long and demanding road requiring many hours of therapy and rehabilitation.
Why do we need your help?
We are preparing for Patryk’s intensive neurological rehabilitation. In his case, time matters. We want to make sure that as soon as he is ready, he can get to a specialized rehabilitation center and begin therapy as quickly as possible.
The funds raised will help cover:
physiotherapy and neurological rehabilitation,
speech and language therapy,
communication and swallowing therapy,
vision rehabilitation,
occupational therapy and training in everyday independence,
necessary medical and rehabilitation equipment,
and other forms of therapy and care he may need during the next stages of his recovery.
We do not yet know exactly where Patryk’s rehabilitation will take place or how long it will last. What we do know is that we want to have the ability to choose the best treatment available for him.
We are not asking for money to make life more comfortable.
We simply want to see him become the person we know and love again.
We cannot undo what happened on August 22.
But we can do everything possible to give Patryk a chance to return:
to having conversations,
to moving independently,
to working,
to traveling,
to his passions,
to the plans he had for his future,
and to the life he dreamed of sharing with the woman he loves.
