More and more often, when talking with business owners, we hear the same thing:
because of declining sales or customers leaving, they’re forced to cut costs.
And unfortunately — in most cases, the first thing that gets cut is advertising.
𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵, 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Advertising is the core tool that brings in clients — especially when you have fewer of them.
𝘕𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 → 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 → 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘦𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴.
It’s a vicious cycle that often leads to the downfall of a business.

Many business owners still believe that marketing is just posting graphics, photos, or reels on Facebook, Instagram, or other social media channels.
But they forget that those times are gone.

It’s no longer enough to post a nice graphic or video. These are not the days when clients simply find you — today, you have to find them.

That’s why it’s so important to go beyond your own profiles and show up where people — your potential new clients — actually are.

Being active in discussion groups, running well-targeted ad campaigns, collaborating with other brands, and engaging in offline activities — all of that matters.
Because your next client could be literally anywhere.

Not everyone has Facebook, not everyone uses Instagram, and even if they do — your post won’t show up for everyone.
That’s why being visible beyond social media is crucial.

Good advertising today is a mix of online and offline actions: printed materials, local advertising, collaborations with nearby businesses, referrals, recommendations, events, and networking.
And it’s not about huge budgets — sometimes all it takes is an idea, consistency, and initiative.

During first consultations, I often hear the same question:
“𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 — 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴? 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴?”

And here’s the paradox:
on one hand, they want more clients,
but on the other — they plan to cut advertising to save money, or drastically reduce their marketing budget.

But by cutting advertising, you’re not saving — you’re losing.
It’s like closing your shop, covering the sign, and waiting for someone to walk in by accident.

Many entrepreneurs need time to understand this. Not because they don’t know — they’re just looking for quick ways to fix the problem.
But business growth is a process, and marketing is a constant part of it.

So, don’t give up on advertising, especially when things start going downhill.
You don’t need an agency if your budget is tight, you can take small, consistent steps on your own. But whatever you do — don’t stop promoting yourself.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Without it, your business won’t move forward — it will slowly start to slide backward.

The market is changing.
People are more careful with spending, and inflation takes away part of their disposable income. It’s normal that some of your clients leave.

That’s why you need a constant flow of new ones — to replace those who, for various reasons, can no longer stay.
And that’s exactly the role of marketing — to keep reminding people about your brand and attracting new audiences.

👉 So if you ever catch yourself thinking,
“I’ll stop advertising — it’s too expensive,”
pause for a moment and ask yourself another question: How much is the lack of clients really costing me?

We love it 😵‍💫 when a client says: “Do something creative… but make it look exactly the way I imagined!”

Creativity in marketing only works when the designer, copywriter, or social media manager has a little room to breathe. The problem is, some clients treat the word “creative” as a decorative flourish in a sentence, not as genuine space for fresh ideas.
As a result 👉 “Do it your way” often turns into 👉 “Do it exactly the way I see it – down to the font, color, and layout.”

It’s a bit like inviting a chef to cook something extraordinary… and then insisting they stick to the recipe printed on the 🍝 pasta box.
The outcome? Technically correct, but stripped of the very spark that could have made it special.

The best campaigns are born when clients allow us to step beyond their vision 🤯 – and trust the experts.

According to many people, marketing is ridiculously simple – all you need is a logo, a quickly made graphic, posted on Instagram or Facebook, and you’re done.
Done… until it turns out you actually need to set goals, research the market, calculate the budget, and figure out how to reach potential customers. That’s when the magical “marketing is ridiculously simple” suddenly stops working.

You realize that reach is low, conversions are even lower, and—strangely enough—your competitors aren’t complaining about their sales at all. A marketing strategy is not just a retouched photo thrown onto a social media profile, but a roadmap of actions that tells you where to invest time and money so you get more than just likes from friends.

And that’s where the stage of “practically everyone knows marketing” comes to an end.
