It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary. Mary was not only the cornerstone of our family but also the visionary founder of Hopkins Communications. She built this company with a pioneering spirit, a relentless commitment to creativity and community, and a deeply rooted belief in people.
Mary was an inspirational woman on so many levels – a devoted wife to Dave, a wonderful mum to Mark and Judy, and an adoring grandmother to Jack and Anna. She was a trusted friend to so many and a fierce supporter of others, particularly women in business. Though a proud Limerick native, she forged lasting relationships throughout Cork’s business community and beyond, contributing tirelessly to voluntary groups, boards, and organisations over the years.
Founding our family business 35 years ago, she worked tirelessly to grow Hopkins Communications into the company it is today. She was and will always be the heart and soul of this business. Everything we do continues to be rooted in the values she lived by – hard work, integrity, compassion, and community.
Mary was loved by so many – from the shores of Baltimore, West Cork, to the islands of Auckland, New Zealand. She will be deeply missed by Dave, Mark, Judy, daughter in law Eorann, her beautiful grandchildren Jack and Anna, her twin sister Norma, the two Hoppy fur babies Scooby and Rolo, and indeed by all of us.
We are devastated by her loss and would like to sincerely thank everyone who has reached out with messages of condolence and memories of her. We are honoured to continue her legacy, carrying forward her vision with the same passion and integrity she showed every single day. Hopkins Communications will always be Mary’s story, and we are proud to keep writing the next chapter in her name.
We hope that at your next outing, you will think of her and raise a large glass of vodka and soda in a fishbowl with ice and lots of “vegetables” (lemons and limes), and toast to the wonderful life she led.
