After the last weekend of summer is back at the desk preparing for a busy month ahead! 📚

Here’s what’s in store…

📹On Tuesday, Niamh is managing the filming of special videos to be shown at the Ceiling Breakers' 'We Are In This Together' Ball – an event raising vital funds on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society for breast and prostate cancer care, research and support services.

🎤On Thursday, Martina is speaking at Charities Institute Ireland's Fundraising Labs event, sharing her insights on the topic of 'Trust, Messaging and Fundraising Under Pressure’.

📘Also on Thursday, Emma will be supporting Children's Books Ireland on a photocall ahead of the launch of its new 'Best Irish Books of 2026' reading guide.

✈️And, at the weekend, Martina is heading to London as part of our work with the Government of Jamaica directing media relations for a milestone moment in Jamaica's fight for reparatory justice. We'll have more details to share next week.

🌼And finally, a big focus for us this September is Cancer Fund for Children's Rory’s Miles to Mayo 378km walking challenge being led by rugby legend Rory Best in support of children and young people affected by cancer. Maisie and Abby have been working on a media relations campaign to highlight this epic fundraiser before it kicks off a 9-day route across the island of Ireland on 12th September.

🎙️This afternoon, Martina and Eileen are at The Royal Irish Academy, delivering a media training session.

📖Later in the week, Martina will also be delivering a comms training workshop for the Irish Cancer Society On Thursday, she's heading to Portlaoise for a workshop with the leadership team of ETBI.

💡On Wednesday, Martina and Maisie are facilitating a workshop for a joint project between Ruhama and Dublin R**e Crisis Centre.

📰We’re rolling out a media relations campaign for Ireland’s Just Transition Commission this week on new research into public attitudes and expectations of the just transition and of the changes needed for Ireland to move to a climate-neutral future.

🌎And throughout the week, Community Foundation Ireland has a global convening taking place, bringing representatives from community foundations across the world together in Dublin and Belfast, to look at trends and best practices in their sector.

Here at Alice, one of the best parts of the job is the privilege of getting to know people with remarkable lived experience stories, like Orla Crowe, whose story is featured in this month’s RSVP. A former patient of our client Clontarf Hospital, Orla was knocked off her bike by a truck turning at the junction of Golden Lane and South Great George’s Street in Dublin city centre, causing her serious injuries. “Everything changed when she was sent to Clontarf Hospital, which is a public rehabilitation hospital. There, she was met with such kindness and patience as she began the painstaking process of relearning how to walk.”

Clontarf Hospital is celebrating 150 years of transforming patients’ lives, and Orla shared her story with RSVP’s Áine Kenny as part of a media relations campaign we delivered.

After another glorious sunny weekend, we're back and buzzing for another busy week on client campaigns.

The World Cup results are in! ⚽ After a nail-biting weekend watching the tournament end, we're celebrating our team's sweepstake winners. Martina took the overall crown with Spain, though Emma and Niamh weren't far behind with two wins for Argentina and two wins for France, thanks to Mbappé and the French Team! Eillot also won’t go home empty-handed as England tied with France as the top-scoring team.

Final rankings:

🥈 Runner-up – Emma (Argentina)
⚽ Highest Scoring Team – Niamh and Elliot (France & England, tied at 20 goals!)
